i was just curious if there were any special techniques to make great mother plants. I have these two ak clones and i plan on these two being mothers and even maybe one day hermie on and make fem seeds. Thats just my far away dreams:bigjoint:. anyways i would like to get clones as fast as possible to get an aero system going. I was thinking maybe a certain way to trim, lst, fim? top? etc.

Making Great mothers takes a few things to remember.

A Strong Mother will Always be in 18/6 To avoid the Chemical reaction of 12 / 12 Lighting.
A Strong Mother will Treated as a Vegging Stated plant.
You will be able to Produce many many clones if you follow certain criteria.

a Mother plant isn't a flowering plant so you should probably keep the Temp around 70-76 degrees and RH around 50-55%

Flowering plants like the same temp but RH of 35-%40%

Keep Mold away, Water every 2-3 days.
Your mothers should be just fine.

Lighting and Time is everything.
Better mothers under HPS,MH rather then CFL's.

If you are looking to make clones you need to LST/DWC and give it time. If you LST it'll keep nodes tight, and cause the shoots to be stronger for cloning. Off of 2 plants if you gave it about a month and a half, I would say if they were healthy you could get 40 clones. Cheers.

Yes, most importantly start with good grand-mothers, which u've taken care of. Just give it time. Vegging is the easy part. If you want more clones the fastest way, hydro or aeroponics, would do it. Soil is a little slower and produces smaller plants. You should have plenty of viable clones in a month without needing to train ur mothers, nor top them. That would just take more time for new branches (potential clones) to grow. I say just watch and wait. Sorry if this was a waste of ur time to read

Well, i don't know if it helped him.. but it helped me.. as I also have been thinking about doing the same thing. I have my 'Lemon Skunk' (femanized) going.. she's about 5 days old now and growing like wildfire. I probably wont make her a mother plant.. but I also have a couple of femanized 'White Berry' seeds from Paradise Seeds.

With the 'White Berry' I plan on keeping her on a 18/6 lighting regime.. so that she can be a really nice mother plant. I'm really looking forward to doing the 'White Berry' grow.

thanks!
peace. :bigjoint:
