The price of weed is nothing but greed. I have about a grand invested into my equipment. It's a small grow, ten plants, two six hundred watt lights. I decided to grow for a few reasons. I was tired of being ripped for top dollar for shit weed, by a kid who could be my son. Second, I thought it much more dangerous buying weed on the street than growing it in my house and thirdly and maybe most importantly, so me and my friends could enjoy good weed all year and them at a reasonable price. It does cost me to grow the stuff but mostly I charge them what they pay for crap weed and never more than a hudred fifty an ounce. I work five days a week painting houses, growing is my therapy, sharing is my passion.

those are competitive prices where im from. I'm in the midwest. Prices here usually go

50-8th
300-400-oz
1200-1600- qp
2800-3200- hp

It hard to find anything less than 350/zone here. most qp's go for at least 1400. I havent been involved in the market for almost a year now so I cant say 100%, but this is what the prices were when I was involved.

damn your prices for high grade bud are about what I pay for commercial grade or average chrons. Or maybe I just don't know the right people :?

I can get 1oz of mids for $120-130$, And about 4g of high quality for $40, and that's all I know so far, have always bought in those prices.

Denver prices vary a lot depending on strain, but most of the dispensaries charge $400+ for an oz of top end stuff and about $350+ for mid grade.

I'm personally a bit confused about how much they charge, because I can't see where their costs to produce it are all that high. Using typical business accounting methods (i.e. depreciating the costs of your equipment over time) I've figured out that my current grow is going to cost me less then $20/oz to produce assuming each plant yields at least 3 oz (I was told to expect 4 from the person who set me up with the clones and who grows this strain all the time). True, I'm not factoring in what it costs me for the mortgage on the bedroom I'm using to grow in, but that's the only cost associated with the grow that I didn't include when running my figures. If I expense all my equipment on this grow then my cost per oz rises to about $70, but that would also mean that my costs on all subsequent grows using the same lights and equipment would be substantially lower (cost of nutes and electricty would be about all).

Point I'm trying to make is that no matter how I slice it i can't see where any professional grower is spending more then $50/oz on production related costs, which means that the rest of their selling price is to cover their labor and profit margin. Without knowing a typical yield out of a commercial operation and the number of labor hours used it's impossible for me to figure out the exact labor costs, but considering that most businesses run no more then 50% labor that still means that an ounce shouldn't cost (on average) more then $100 to produce. So, why such a high profit margin? I can tell you most businesses consider 20% to be great, so why is MMJ so different?

I'm in Washington and I wouldn't even consider your product as an option. Much cheaper better options up here. But I'm not sure of your location so don't take my opinion to heart.

Just curious. Most sites don't like to talk dollars and sense, so it's tough to get a gauge. Here's what I'm on(and they go-like hotcakes). I only grow organically, under 1K's, perfectly trimmed, from the very best genetics in the world(for my taste and in my experience, of course) after many trips to the west coast AND Europe:

indica's, to include: Mandala #1, sdv3x purple urkel, blue buddha, and great white shark:

50-8th, consistently throughout. Next drop:
350-OZ
1200-QP
2200-HP
4K-lb

Sativa's, to include: Kali Mist, g13x mako haze:

50-8th. OZ does not drop. First drop is qp:
1500-QP
2800-HP
5300-LB

Thats what we call EXTREME hustle around here, and you'd never sell even one gram of weed around here. That's just straight up
$50 an eigth, lol try $30 an eigth for bomb kush.... and 700 for a QP... lol... the prices you are stating are for like UP north... like in the northwest terretories / yukon and shit bro... $5300 for a POUND!! try 2.5 pounds hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah $350 an ounce i almost choked on what I was drinking... try $210 max

I'm being dead serious, those are the prices you find WAAAY the fuck up north. (those are the prices me and my friends laugh and joke about selling to people for... LOL)
