How cold is too cold?

I am growing outdoor in 10 gallon smart pots in soil and tonight it is going to dip under 50f, will my plants be ok??

From my two Spring crops I've found 25F will burn the buds a little, but 16F will kill their asses.

so far we been to 39 with no cover but no frost happened either. looking at that or lower next weekend we are dialing in our tarp tech for the fall season....mom nature says its time.

Mature plants/fall can survive right up to freeze or snow
Spring /young plants are not so fortunate

I get more concerned about the dew and rain in the fall. Bud rot ain’t good.

If it's going to get below 35 degrees, bring them inside. Frost can kill them pretty easy.

A hard frost will but normal frosts will not. Mine go through 1 to 2 frosts every year and as long as they are well watered they bounce right back as soon as the sun comes up.

Yes, I’ve had some plants go thru frosts. Wake up in the morn, go check the girls and see them covered with a layer of frost. Alls fine tho once the sun comes back out!!
