How about a ruling on these trichomes? Nutrients until harvest? Is it bro science?

There are still many many white hairs and foxtailing going on. Some of the trichomes look almost ready but I'm not confident I've got it right. I am reading about 750 ppm for my most recent runoff testing yesterday. My goal is to harvest between day 80-85 so wondering if its necessary to flush the plants for a few days before chopping down.

I've grown a couple times before but my end product always has sucked. I think that was due to the plants dying and getting rot before I cut them down but I never had a good harvest yet. These plants look OK, I guess- and have a pretty good smell. Now its up to harvesting and drying properly. One thing is that the leaves are pretty yellow and I am concerned that it will spread to my buds like I suspect happened to my other grows.

I am going to dry in the 4 x 4 tent with an oscillating fan below the hanging buds and have the humidity at 59 and exhaust at 61 RH. The plan is to get them dry in 10-14 days and then into jars. Here are a couple up close bud shots I took tonight and a link to a detailed thread of my grow journal:

Thanks for any advice. Have a great rest of the week!

I would say at least 3 weeks. Most of the pistols should be brownish and receding. Don't stop feeding either. Keep good air circulation going throughout the entire grow. You got this, and looking good so far. Keep updating this thread as the days go by. Be patient.

I set the timer for 10/14 today. Going to reduce ppms every watering by 1/3 and see how that gets me. I fed a couple days ago so next feeding is Sweet Raw (mag/sulfur). A couple days I will render my decision and choose whether to harvest on Saturday or Sunday (85/86) or wait until next weekend (92/93)

My concern is over ripening. The plant with darker colors seems about a week ahead of the lighter colored one. Not only are the hairs more ripe, but so are the trichomes. I'm hoping this is one of those strains that ripens out of seemingly nowhere but only time will tell. I will keep updated. Thanks for checking out this thread and helping out.

Feed them or at a minimum pee on them.

They have time to go as pistil growth isn’t matured ( coloring off / receding )
Plant is cannibalizing itself ( leaf matter ) for it.
Deep flower ( 1000 ppm ) average.

Last point : Plants do not not care about “ suggested harvest days “ or calendars.
They will finish when they finish no matter how long it takes regardless of breeder estimates .

The Chem heavy strain does what all Chems do and that is consume themselves. It is a trait of the genetics, hence the yellow.

I would continue to feed Bloom for a week and then I would give plain water until harvest in 14 days from that pic.

Make sure you get your drying game on point because that is where most dope is ruined.

Those plants have a minimum 3-4 weeks left before they are properly ripened. They might not make it though because they are starving.

They are still COVERED in white stigma, which means they are still growing fresh buds for you. I've never seen a plant that magically ripened in a week. It takes WEEKS for the plant to finish its growth processes and give you the best final results.

Have you ever tried feeding the plants until end? And waiting for the pistils to go brown?

Just a FYI >

I have two auto's the breeder claims 70 days "seed to harvest"...

They are at day 111 and still have a bit to go....

Feed those girls right to the end ;)

Cheers

I just watered today with more Kool Bloom Powder and Mag Sulfur. The input ppm was about 400, my runoff ppm was about 800. This time it's going to be different, I'm going to feed until 3 days before chop. Aye aye!
