:/ Im fairly positive thats a root aphid... eeep! lol
Thankfully I'm pretty sure I identified this sucker. With help from other people of course. Hypoasis Miles is the name of it. Note the light brown body and darker brown pointy head. Now I've never had toot aphids so I can't be a hundred percent. But from the ones I see online they are all white and have round little white heads. This head is dark brown and pointy looking. Atleast I hope we got the right bug. If it is the hypoasis miles than it is a friend. They feed on fungus gnat larvae and other nasties. Only time will tell I guess. If I start having unhealthy plants and damage I'll know it's a root aphid. If it's a root aphid I'm tossing all of this soil and starting over. I will then do what tek does and buy miracle grow!

Day 10 pinkie pies. Temps are staying around 73 and humidity is high at around 60-65. I'll have to throw a dehumidifier in there if it stays that high later on. Anyway here's some pics.

Pinkie number 1 has just showed sex at day 15 so one female so far. Woo hoo I was hoping she would be as she's the fastest out of my group. Short sturdy just how I like them.

Okay guys down to one pinkie. Now I have never had a Hermie before so checking with you guys. I've also never seen four or five hairs coming out of each calyx. So again just being cautious. What's everyone's thoughts. Whether or not this looks like a Hermie trait and or a Hermie sac. You have to zoom in but it's a clear pic.

hmm? the one up top looks ify to me but the one with all the pistils coming out of it looks like a calyx to me.
is there a little stem holding the calyx? if not should be a female.

It doesn't seem like they're on a stem there still to small to tell. They are awfully round for a new calyx though. Time will tell if it is I'll start two more.

It looks like it is on a little stem when I get closer View attachment 3535817
From the best of my knowledge hermis don't show both sex's in the same spot. If it's a hermit it will have both reproductive organs but be located in different spots. I've never seen pistols protruding from a male flower.
Male flowers showing up within a female flower (bud) can happen, but not the other way around.

Thanks yeah I've had males before so I know what the nuts look like. I just wasn't sure about hermies. I've never had round calyxs untill they swell. Ill keep on going with her unless I see straight nuts lol.

Today is day 19. She's growing great. She's adding a new leaf set daily. I'm going to give it another couple of days and if I see any sacs I will pull it. I will start a new one in its place before I make a choice on whether to pull or not.image.jpeg
