HLG vs. HGL (Perm Edition)

So, I would really like to put Project: Alpha in there instead of an 84x. Obviously match watt for watt with the Rspec. It's the same HGL spectrum.
Really whatever floats your boat bud. I like the light angles you are working right now, and adding anything over the center would just really cap it off. I like the "light dome" effect, that's what I want to do with a Bar 8. 4-6 bars over the top, and then either 1 on each end, or 1 on all 4 sides to create a "light dome" around my plants.

With everyone not being cool with how I had the lights, I put them back yesterday. Not going to add another light either. After some thought, that is too many watts I feel.
Also running the Rspec at 18" until I hear otherwise.

Back to same/same.
Update coming soon.

Updated pic to show the lights.
I'll do a video and get some close up pics and explain my system and a little about my methods both here and in the vid.
I'll also give some thoughts about the lights.
Thanks.

Been a while, sorry. I try not to be too much of a drama queen for the most part, so I'll keep this short, and then get to the update. I've been dealing with personal issues, and pretty much lost a lot of motivation. I also found out working on Mrs. Perm's car that I'm not as good as I used to be, lol. What would have taken me two days is passing a week now.

Ok, so today is Day 3 since flip. I also set up the time lapse cameras when I flipped. Pics in this post are from right now. I had a deficiency forming, and was able to correct it. I did a round of defoliation and scrog. Right after that I set the lights to 12/12.
I want to thank @Randomblame for introducing me to Vapor Pressure Deficit, VPD. Since I got in the green on that chart things have been doing outstandingly well.

Everything I do at the same time to both plants.

Started falling behind in veg it appeared. You can see in the pics. When I went to defoliate I saw it was a solid bush. Like a scrog nightmare, for my method anyway. It is thick. I took it through a round of light defoliation, and introduced it to some Low Stress Training, LST.
The most noticeable differences I see under this light to this point are:
1. Very bushy plant. Stacked tight with leaves and nodes everywhere.
2. Very hard stems. Everything is very 'twiggy'. They bend, but only so far at one time.
3. Small leaves.
(if this points anyone to a deficiency, please let me know)

Looked like it was in the lead, and may be. You decide. When I went to defoliate I saw it was less of a bush and more open of a plant in general, more spread out I guess is what I am trying to say. More light penetration because of this. I also think the nodes are more spread out. This is a scrog dream, for my method anyway. I did a round of light defoliation and introduced it to LST.
The most noticeable differences I see under this light to this point are:
1. Very open and spread out plant.
2. Very very flexible stems
3. Larger leaves

Someone once made a comment about both plants having the same bio mass (or something similar). After doing the defoliation, that may be true. If people feel like hybrid is saying that his plants are looking the same now. I am seeing it, too. Just differently. The thickness of the HLG plant and the size of the HGL plant kind of even things out it looks. At least up to this point.

I made the comment about my method on the lights. My method has been my method since before I got either of these lights. I didn't know what light would do what, I chose to do my method because it is my method. I thought I would end up defoliating more on the HLG side, but after I was done, I had about the same pile of leaves from both plants, just the HLG pile had smaller leaves but more of them.

Thanks for reading. I have a lot of video that I am sorting through. The next vid update will be a long one, just an fyi.

I found the same differences exactly. Good explanation of it all. I rarely have the time to do that properly anymore.
Good Job!
Tight BigBush vs Tree is how i see it

I don't know anything about stem flexibility being good or bad.

I wish you had a chance when defoliating to compare how easy or difficult they were to snap when pulling on each end of a stem testing it in different places.

I've always felt the hardest ones to snap when pulling on each end were healthier than those that snapped easily.

Would enjoy if someone has knowledge of flexibility being good or bad.

Small leaves vs big is going to be one of those debates that could someday earn a top tier status like flushing and defoliating, just give it time. ;)
