HLG vs. HGL (Perm Edition)

This is definitely and understatement. I run 2 QB 288 v2 @ around 220 watts during flower and it crushes my 2x3. I'd need that extra foot of width to even be able to use the 260 watts i have available.
Nice job on the side by side so far. :peace:
How far do you like to keep them from the canopy?

After posting this I think this gives HGL an unfair advantage. So I'm putting the 84x's back to side by side and flat.
HLG also sells smaller boards that could have been used in this side by side. The Rspec isn't ideal for a 2x4. I feel it is still a fair comparison being it has four boards and equal watts.

Edit: The method I would do though is have two lights like I had the 84x's. I would stretch the plant out over the screen, then place the lights a little closer together and flat once the screen filled out. I would also flip to flower at that time. I am also going to try to defoliate them both equally.
Ok. Just so i get this clearly. You got an R-Spec made for a 4.5'x4.5' area dimmed to like 280w (electrical efficiency of approx 3.1+ umol/j vs. x2 , old 84X's (EE of Aprox 1.5 or less Umol/j)?
And you're worried about HydroGrow having an unfair advantage being x2 modulars?
Im getting allot less lit canopy & much lower #'s @ 20-24" w/ the 84x's. About 50w less is the HLG Trinity @ 28". Loud #'s evenly spread over the plant.
Im getting about 1/3+ more light per watt on the HLG side.
But maybe because of the size of that plant, none of that will matter & youll be able to have similar #'s by running close with the 84's.
I like the one on each side, angled approach. And given you're using HGL's old tech id say that's plenty fair.
Nice work Grower!

I guess since there are no objections, I'll just run them like this then.

Fully understand bud...
That's your first shot at organics under that Bar light?
Oh, i bought some Dyno-Gro last week. Got the Grow, Bloom, & Mag stuff that is also P & N enriched.
I believe its P & Mag my white led plants need, especially cuz I've been in CoCo.
Any tips on using it? After only one feed & putting some ill plants under the Alphas, they are looking kick ass.
What brought me to Dyno-Gro was me randomly looking through the store for a low K, High P Base n saw that. Then thought of you & you liking it. Once i found out its all in one bottle for cheap i was real happy & am giving it a go.

Day 20
I went out of state for a few days. I have the drippers on auto timers, and leaned on the conservative side. They never went dry, but could use a drink when I got home earlier tonight. I fed everything in my room, and everything is back on track.
These are before defoliation pics.
