Hello Fellow Growers!. First off I'd like to Give Big Shout Out To Victor @ Amare & Stephen from HLG for everything. Just Everything!.
Stand up guys, great companies, offering quality products & service as long as I've known. Both innovative & focus on making Premium LEDs.
Also would like to Say Thank You to SunPlix whom sold me my x4 CMH.!
They were super quick, great service & hooked me up with free 26', thick 220v extension cords so I could run remote ballasts. Think I may have wound up with a free set of bulbs too. I'm liking them so far & may grab x2 more for veg depending on the outcome here. They veg a healthy plant for sure as x2 of these did the veg along with led suplemental.
We hear the Claims of 800-900w of led replacing a 1200w DE. Sure, it can be true too in allot of cases. But what if we took it a step further? Yup, the x4, cmh. Equal efficiencies as DE Yet a superior spectrum then anything we currently run in led. Do believe that will change this year with the broadband chips tho. For this Competition I offer the 880w, AMARE, Bar-8.vs the x4 SunPlix CMH bulbs, dimmable Squarewave Ballasts, using x2, S.P. Extra red 4k, x2 ,Philips 3K. (Only cuz i netted before switching to all 3k, sort've stuck there). X4 plants.
Then there's the Diablo 650R from HLG. It's a beast in that it probably replaces a 1000, DE.?, (Don't quote me on that) Diablo=monster HO/HE from a Single Board. The Bar-6 is 730-60w using the Solar Pro (C) spectrum - the 630nm. So, we'll see.. The Diablo comes in a whoping 2.87 umol/j i think & has everything included that i wasn't feeling in the 550 models. The AMARE Bar-6-Demo comes in at 2.34 umol/j when the UVA is on & is 730 or 60w full blast w/UVA, 2.78, w/o the UVA. Quite a bit too, so I think I'll use sparingly. The Final model is different in quite a few ways.
Then we have x2 , dimmed AMARE Pro'4's at 275w each going up against x2, HLG, 320w, 96 Elites. They also have one plant each set.
This as as even parameter as I could afford. 1 light divider leads to 2 n so forth. This messes up my air flow & the jive of the room. So take it for what it is. Best I could do.

Day 2, just checked for an even 1000ppfd across the room except the Bar-8 is showing 800 & the x4 CMH are crazy high. Wrong Par-Meter made for led. I'd guess 1100 if MQ-550.
Kind've high #'s for not hitting stretch yet 20201013_223242.jpg20201013_223043.jpg20201013_223018.jpg20201013_223010.jpg20201013_223034.jpg20201013_223031.jpg20201013_222955.jpg20201013_222939.jpg20201013_222946.jpgbut ill keep a weeving. Not everything here has a dimmer.

Good Morning! Lil info. The Diablo & Bar-6 both have equal sized BrideZilla pheno#4 plants. This Pheno did excellent under the Big QB/Supplemental, battle ship fixture, stays fairly short & branches outwards. Interested to see what she looks like w/o all the Added Red + Blue that comes with x2, 60w Saber Supplemental bars.
The Bar-8 & x4, cmh's each have equal size BrideZilla pheno #2's & GG#4's. Both big stretchers. Heisenburg seeds.
The Pro-4's & Elites are running another shorter strain/pheno, Called Sundae Stallion by GreenPointSeeds. Only ever ran it under 50/50, Burple/White, came out stunning. So interested to see that under the normal spectra as or primarily white rather.
Have been contemplating fighting the stretch to keep this a x2 trellis job but idk, we'll see in x2 wks. Have a feeling we'll know sooner.
I have No Biasedness here nor do I ever. People can think n say what they will. But passing false info on to companies like "I own Amare" "therefore I'm biased" is Ludacris.
All these years I think I have proven that biased is something I'm not when it comes to the growroom. If anyone thinks I'm not always trying to squeeze every last Nug out of every last plant then your nuts. I would never in my life compromise a plant in the name of a sbs. Omg! That would be a sin I'd not look forward to attoning to. Nor would I add benefit to another unevenly.
This may not be 100% SBS due to the lack of curtains but it will show us the Morphological differences as well as the lab results. Who knows, maybe 450nm or 470nm may add thc we're not fully aware of & that may be why some led nug looks so fantastic already. We currently see up to 20% increases using 390-470nm with a lil Emerson included. We know CMH knocks it out the park, not to mention there's x2 ,4k in there providing even more UV.
Have never seen a room full of 315's. Have you? Heard they don't penetrate deep enough (i call BS). X4 in a 5'8"x7' section shows very high numbers (will order MQ-550 Atachment) at 2' +. x1, HPS/1200W , DE is only designed for a 5x5 or a 6x6 with overlapping lights correct?
Bar-8 also has exactly a 5'8"x7' area. Both contain x2 plants & may have some center isle plants growing into their edges.
The Gen2, Bar-8 will be interesting to go against the CMH as it will have the broadband spectrum +390nm. So we start with the fuller then most, yet still limited spectrum of the Canna-Spec & move our way up.
Lab results are important & included.

I'm in! I'm so stoked with the progression of LED's. From when I first started growing and we could only dream of LED's being able to grow plants, to now. Who knows where we'll be in 10 years time.

Pretty cool shit as I see growth traits differences between all lights. But they all are doing awesome imo. Still new to Jacks. Only second time using it. So, i see some dry leaves in lower places, maybe from fans too but looks to ba a lil burn.
Last run was my first organic run ever using Green Bycicles Soil Ammendment. Great smoke!

Last night cranked up the Diablo to see if it would be to much @ current & predicted heights. The jump in par was not a whole lot providing around 1000umol at the second trellis center.. Although I must say the light itself looked to have brighten by eye more then the Par-meter showed imo. It sprays light for sure & would be an excellent 1:1 replacement for a 1000w DE I'd imagine. Several of these providing cross-lighting like DE's do would be some nice even #'s for the most part. 790 umol at the back wall (long end of the board) 540 umol near the corner of the wall. Second trellis is around 34" below the board, vertically. 20201019_173524.jpg20201019_014951.jpg20201019_015107.jpg20201019_014932.jpg20201019_014940.jpg
Goes to about 1100 as it nears the Bar-6 cross-lap.

I am Impressed with how fast they all filled in after getting flipped only 2 days after being trellises. I did sacrifice optimal spacing of the plants & room in order to perform these Comparisons but could not put up the dividers. The middle isle has x4 plants when it usually only has x3. Seams to be working out ok though.

Made some changes last night so the Diablo can get More light underneath the trellis where there happens to be a boat load of big branches reaching for the light around what was a dense upper canopy or umbrella. So I released the tucked branches to allow her to go straight up like the Bar-6 plant is. Was initially afraid to let the Diablo plant catch that vertical stretch & then have half the plant in the danger zone of too much light. Dimming it would not be fair & I cannot raise it any higher. Now that half the stretch is over I routinely go around at this time releasing tucked branches after they have developed sites that are shooting upwards on all the plants. Gives me a lil leeway. On the short ceilings & sometimes can keep from needing the 3rd trellis on the tall girls.
Now both plants are gettingvthe same grow styles instead of all that tucking & weeving on the Diablo side.
