IES files will show you exactly how placement needs to work. I think Prawn is going to be one of the first on here to truly understand the benefits of using IES files, one of the main reasons I came here was to help people out and up the standards for you all by making manufacturers have to test for IES files as a standard thing that they offer with the data of the light they are promoting. Cutter use IES files now also after I test products, it just makes things easier and you can know how it will work before you make a purchase. It's time for everyone to up their game in this industry and I believe because of the work I am doing now in 12 months an IES file will be something that customers demand.
Get a proposal in to HLG....they need to seeiously up their game!

Is that Wappa that is pulling 22 ozs per 3x3? I can get 18 out of a 3x3 but that is with cramming 24 plants in there. To do it with 2 plants is pretty appealing. How long is the veg?
Yes mate. That's not even his best yield from that set-up - he's got up to 28oz under a 600W HPS, but that was from a middle station that had overlapping light from other stations. He averages around the 20oz mark in that room.

When I run Wappa in my rotation, I get 3oz per plant with eight plants in a 4'x2' under LED, which is 24oz.

EDIT: Sorry, veg time I'm not sure. We don't really put much importance on veg time, because in perpetual grows, there is always more time to veg than you need, so we might turn down the lights or nutrients or prune them back or whatever to fit in with the schedule. But to give you a ball-park figure, anywhere from four-six weeks.

Each flower pot sits inside a catchment pot (pot within a pot). They are the same type of pot, but the catchment pots don't have any drainage holes. Instead, a hole is drilled into the bottom side of the catchment pot, and a rubber grommet is fitted to prevent leakage, then a 19mm plastic elbow is inserted into the grommet with the other end attached to a 19mm drainage hose. All the drainage hoses connect to another 19mm main drainage hose on the floor, which exits the room through a hole in the wall and goes directly to a drain outside.

My tent system also uses drain-to-waste, but I collect my waste in a bucket, which I empty on to my garden outside. In the past, I have had drain-to-waste hoses that went straight into a veg patch, so none of the excess nutrient is wasted. The amount of waste nutrient is about 10% of that going into the pots.

See the hoses on the floor? You can see where they connect and exit through the wall.

@klx I'd forgotten I had this photo ^ This is the first Wappa grow under the QB324s. The front station produced 22oz and the rear station 24oz. There is obviously some overlapping light from the HPS lights next door, but that's the benefit of room grows - you can see all those big buds coming out the sides down the bottom. That nearest light has now been replaced with two High Lights and we're running them off against the QB324s to see if they hold up with less wattage (345W at the boards compared to 400W).

So far, so good! I'll be posting up some photos in the not-too-distant future.

Well that's a shame if that is happening, and I'd hope it doesn't happen in this thread.

I know we all have our differences at times, but good information is good information and we shouldn't get too precious about it. We can all disagree, but we should also respect each other's opinions - that's what free speech is all about.

As a former website owner and administrator at the now defunct www.planetganja.com (yeah, there are a few of you around who remember me from those days, lol!), I know how easy it is to be labelled a "troll" just because someone doesn't like the cut of your jib.

But political correctness has a habit of stamping out truth, so personally, I don't mind a bit of arguing as long as we all stay on topic.

Diverse opinions welcome! Carry on!

That’s not st all what’s happening
He was asked nicely to stop name calling
He spent 2 days screaming into my inbox about how he will won’t stop
And how he is an led light expert who Riu is lucky to have

Than he continued to name call repeatedly he was put on slow down mode about a week ago
The entire week he has spent crying calling me names and going on about how
Mean I am to him
Than he started asking for free hand outs from users which is against the rules
And than he started promoting his website on here which is free advertising and spam also against the rules
He’s not being picked on he just can’t follow the rules

I think to be fair, sunni, he wasn't asking for free handouts but for people to send him LED products to test. He's invested a lot of good money in light-testing equipment, which is a valuable resource, IMO. I sent him some boards and even offered to let him keep them, but he didn't want them - he only wanted to collect the data so we could all share it. He's offered to do this for free and I'll get everything back when he's finished.

Is it a form of self-promotion? Well yes and no. Yes, he is promoting what he can do, and yes he has strong opinions, but I haven't seen any evidence of spamming. I've seen him arguing with the odd sponsor, but it's not unusual to see sponsors arguing amongst themselves! Also, the Aussie lexicon can be a bit of an acquired taste at times, and not always taken with the pinch of salt that's usually served with it . . .

Yeah, that's us. OK, he's a Kiwi, but you get the gist ;)

Alright, I admit TEKNIK didn't help his cause. I think he could have handled himself a bit better - chilled a bit more - and stopped poking the proverbial hornet's nest . . . But it also looks to me like maybe things escalated further than they should have.

You've always struck me as a pretty fair admin, sunni, so I know you wouldn't have done this lightly. But it's a shame things can't be worked out, because I believe he does add value to the forum and, well, there's always the ignore button. I know I've been put on a few ignore buttons over the years.

I also know about the "Miserable User" hack in the admin cp - I've been on both ends of it, lol! It's not very nice

Anyway, I'm not sure if it's too late, or of there's even a way to resolve this - maybe just lock him in the LED forum for a while until he plays nice - but if there's a way, then I support giving him another go. No Miserable User, just lock him in here with the fellow LED nerds for a bit. We can sort the wheat from the chaff.

:peace:
