Keep carrying that water man! It keeps you young. Just carry less.

The 'Doobie Brothers' pre disco at its best. Their style and sound are as comforting and reminiscent for me today as it was then.......turmoil and good times all rolled into one. Wait, these days are pretty much the same. Guess life does go on huh?

Ha! Great thread..
I too am a dusty bottle of not quite 60 yrs.
Been a serious smoker since my days in the Navy ( Thanks Uncle! ) and growing for the last few years.
Can't imagine doing anything else to ease into "retirement". It's a labor of love though, truly.

This is a great thread, Big Kudos Coho. Having a few tungs on Cindy plus a Busch Light or too I have a thought to share. Heres my ideas on a over 50 thread.
Here goes. Got to be over 50 to be a full member. Those younger, well...something to figure out. Found it on the same basic grounds as most community services. Like the Knights of Columbus, Rotary, JayCees ect... A code of conduct to be strictly followed by full members to be followed in any postings or undertakings on RIU. Earn respect and get respect kinda thing. To this over 50 guy respect for fellow mankind seems to be taking it in the bag a bit. Just my buzzed and content thoughts..........

Sixty two in a couple of months. Worked for the man all my life, retired and started growing. Been at it 3 yrs now and I think I missed my calling in life. I used to wake up dreading going to work, now I can't wait to open up my garden in the morning. Smells a lot better to. ha ha... Smoked my first Joint in 1969 and haven't hardly gone a day without it ever since.

I love alot of these comments.
I see alot of the "younger" people who missed out on the 70s trying to sell this bullshit that strains in the 70s were as good and BETTER than today's MJ.

I keep trying to explain to them, the weed was SO FREAKING BAD that when on a rare occassion we did get something like Columbian Gold it would LIGHT US UP. But compared to today's weed columbian gold isnt that good. It sticks out because it was so much better than the bullshit leaves and scraggly seedy as hell crap that we smoked on a regular basis. Anytime you heard the term "homegrown" you would cringe.

For me you are right on. You used to be able to buy a lid for $10 but it was full of stems and seeds and we were pretty much smoking fan leaves. And we thought we were getting high. lol
