Hermies, most have no idea!!!

It may not be gg4, but whatever it is it's close and I like it! I didn't know it was related to chem that's one of my favs. Makes sense though.

It's a perfect example of the herm sensitivity gene though, if she isn't happy she turns into the devil himself lol.

That’s probably a good sign that the seeds came from the real thing.

All of these “elite” s-1 seeds sold are just pollen chucked. I just mean the strain is not worked or stabilized. I grow my own stress seeds often. Some great plants have come from them.

I believe gg4 is a combination of ecsd, chocolate diesel and something else.

East coast sour diesel is chem and super skunk I believe.

I’m close. I didn’t look them up.

I’m going to have to try this gg4. But it is way over hyped like chem and diesel.

I tried a friends and it smoked and got me high pretty much like a good diesel.

ok lets say you have a female plant, cause of major, major stress....she hermies....is it still viable to use? such as seeds and stuff? If so what's the best way to collect them??? just curious cause i have one right now, didn't want to contaminate my room so i put it outside to let it finish....???

Yea I got it, I understand. But like you said it's not a "hermie gene" it's a sensitivity and some plants are more sensitive so they become hermie earlier on in life.

In essence it is the genes causing it to happen in some plants and other strains that take mass stress it's obviously not the case.

If you like we can agree to disagree here but genes are not instructing the plant to reverse. Reversal is a hormonal thing. The imbalance is usually brought out by stress.

The seeds may or may not be as sensitive to reversal but I have never had a bagseed grow nanners despite everyone’s warnings.

And you just let the seeds mature with the buds and when dry they will just fall out mostly. Little shake will usually do the trick.

If the seeds are hidden in the buds just start breaking buds up and smoking. Lol.

gotcha, so basically put it in a large plastic bag, with some air holes for drying, shake every once in a while? am i right with that kinda of thinking?

I didn't say they were "instructing" the plant to reverse but they are actually, it's quite like humans, you can be born a hermie which is rare and you can change from male to female and back with hormones, it is a gene that determines your sex but it's the hormone ethylene or the lack of that drives the gene to choose from what I understand.

I read the MEgi and DOI genes are responsible for the selection of our reproductive organs, they use the amounts of ethylene to determine what sex the animal or plant will be.

This could be utter bullshit for plants but it was claimed its basically the same.

It’s all in marijuana botany by Clark. I can’t remember the gene specifics just that other factors activate the gene. And it’s always present.

Its not a genetic thing in weed, why no breeding can change it. Its from a protein that causes the plant to show both sexes. The protein is linked to stress reactions and not sexual genetics. Nothing like hermies in humans and stuff.

Plants can have very complex systems that influence their genetics but not written on the genetics.

Yes viable seeds but if you stress them expect it to hetmie, grow them out right and the problem will subside.

Some strains came from hermie s1 generations.

yeah i came across ones like that....make the plant happy and healthy...she'll do u just fine.....screw with it to much.....yeah she'll somewhat screw ya in a since......

if the plant isn't happy, the grower isn't gonna be happy....

think if this one survives, think i'll turn it into a hermie s1 gen...and go from there....that if everyone works out alright

The hermie trait helps put pollen closer to flowers in bad years in the wild, awesome for the plants survival. It also produces more females in bad years.

Your going to buy strains that treat you better and worse, forget all the seed hype and lastest strain drop fire genetics crap, find some that are easy to grow and go from there.

I grow heavy indica genetics, i had a freebie kerala x skunk #1, it was hard work so not a strain for me. Work like this till you get no hermies and youll be fine.

Seeds are seeds, will look like the parent that hermed.

This one is still alive.

IME most sacs form about midway up and at first few nodes on those branches. I wonder if the practice of lolipoping has any relavence, in other words you may not see the flowers develop male parts because the ones that were susceptible were cut off in veg?

Trimmed up and cleaned up and haven't seen any new nanners in a bit.20180130_105445.jpgThe pic attached below is before trimming and shows some nanners but site won't let me insert it here.

Also the black twist tie indicates braches that were polinated intentionally with a male from the same F1 stock. I did not notice the nanners until a few weeks afterwords, but the plant did have some concerning pistil development possibly indicating it was developing both sex flowers from the beginning. I don't know if I have the guts to run the seeds, if smoke is bomb I may try to pop some.

Ok if not written on the genes it's close enough, can you explain this article to me?

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/20533168/

What am I missing here?

Seems like the sex of the plant can be determined extremely early on from the DNA directly.
