I have 1 lone plant grown from bag seed I'm pretty sure it has turned hermie and pollinated itself there are some small seeds on the lower branches my question is since its pretty late into flower(8-9 weeks) should I just pull her and harvest what I can or will the buds grow bigger in coming weeks without losing more bud to seed then I would gain letting it grow longer. Thanks :weed:

How is the pheno? Is it worth having? I would think a partial harvest could be cool. Get some good smoke and let the lower seeds mature. Knowing what you have, fem seeds are always a good back up.

I believe when the plant starts to produce seeds it will slow the growth of the buds but not stop. I would think it has to do with redirecting energy to the seeds. It may be the more pollen that hit it the more energy used for seeds and just a banana or two wont be bad. Don't know though. Good luck.

Personally I would pull it since you are in week 9 and the plant is finishing up basically. I only say this because it hermd.

so your saying the seeds produced will be mostly female seeds I thought feminized seeds were made by a hermie pollinating a pure female plant am I wrong. Thanks

Ya that's what I was leaning towards plus I have three more about 2 feet tall and a lot more bushy:blsmoke: that are waiting for that tent space they are ready to switch to 12/12 in a week or two.

Fem seeds our made a few ways. One being Colloidal Silver.

Example: If you have a female(XX) Cck plant you can take a clone of it. You spray the clone with the CS as it starts to flower. This will cause pollen sacks to form on the female plant(XX pollen). A typical male would have pollen that was XY. You then take this hermie pollen(XX) and hit it against the original healthy Cck female(XX) plant. Or you could even cross to another female. Blamo! Fem seeds. The plant you spray is TRASH. DO NOT SMOKE IT! Throw it away after collecting the pollen. *This method is slightly different because it does not pass the hermie trait to the offspring as a plant does when it selfs. (I don't know how much truth there is to that.) A male plant has chromosomes XY. A female has XX. A female that has gone herm is still XX and so is her pollen. This will make seeds that all XX. I, myself am a seed junkie. I would cut the top and leave the lower to finish seed production. With the length of day you can even leave it outside to finish.

I had the same problem hermi late in flower If you just have the one just let it finish mine turned out great plus i got a couple seeds. Make sure before you grow again you clean and sterilize your whole grow room and you intake fans I mean everything to get rid of the pollen

Now I am totally conflicted on what to do lol I sure do love the possibility of fem seeds anyone else want to chime in be the tie breaker lol.

I'm going to clean the hell outta that tent and the room its in no worries about that  thanks though. I am worried about letting it grow because the seeds are slowly making their way up to the top buds every couple days their seem to be 1 or 2 seeds forming on the next row of branches and so on.

Well I'm going to sleep on it and either top it or pull it tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the advice as I am still new to this but I'm learning quick.

How much longer does it take if I top it for the seeds to become mature. thanks

i've been growing some seeds like yours, and have had some nice pure females from them
also some not so nice hermies from them, 50/50 so far, but no worse than reg seeds
i have found that misting with plain old water does kill pollen real quick, next best thing to a clean femme
so you could ride it a while longer, maybe do some rooster plucking and misting to finish as clean as you can
because one more week of ripenesss can make a much nicer product

I think it takes 4 to 6 weeks for a seed to mature from start to finish. If you can see the seeds you probably only have 2 or 3 more weeks for some of them to finish. Also you can probably almost ignore the plant after you top it. Just give it some water and let nature do its thing so you can move on to the next project. I always like to do things too, just so I know. Then you can say you have done it. Always experimenting. Have fun.

Looking at the bud I think you still have a little ways to go before harvest. If you had one pollen sack that already opened, the "damage" is done in that you're going to have to really clean that space before your next grow. Pull off any new pollen sacks and let her finish. She looks great!

That's what I was thinking I don't have a powerful magnifier to see the trichomes I am getting one soon. My question though was the longer it seems to grow seeds seem to be forming on higher and higher branches and I missed a banana(Tricky Bugger) on the main cola that popped so wont the rest of my bud that's seed free be contaminated and turn to seed the longer I wait. thanks

you know...towards the end, all plants are going to throw off any pollen/seeds to survive... i dont see real "bananas" . i say its throwing off and ready for harvest...good lookin cola...enjoy :)
