OK..... so heres the dilly yo. My plant went hermie on me, she has been through a lot of stress, (considering this was my first grow and I f* up a lot.) today I noticed banana looking ball sacs and looks like they have already opened and released pollen. my plant is just 4 weeks into flower. Ive posted a picture of the top two buds....... do I harvest early... or let it go and pick seeds out of the bud?? ....... what would you do.......

If you harvest now you wont get high because it has way too long to go. Ride it out or kill it.

Nice photo. Pretty plant. Cut back ~ 10% on your nute strength: one leaf tip is too burned. A little burn, as the other leafs is acceptable.

Might as well let IT finish. Just start more seeds

the burnt tips I believe are form my CFL lights I keep them extremely close. at one point it was touching the plant but after it burnt I raised them.

I was afriad if I harvested that it would be too soon and I wouldnt get high.... I guess I will just ride it out this is my first plant ever so it would hurt to much to kill it. :-(GAH!

Alot of times hermies can turn out to be quite potent.

hell yea I like the way that sounds. I just thought if she got pollenated that there would be millions of seeds and no bud. as far as Im concerned this whole grow has been an awesome learning experience, I may as well let her ride out for experimental purposes.

Sometimes what appears to be a bad thing is really a blessing in disguise. Your potency will remain intact, and the resulting seed will be feminized. I found one seed the other day from an entire guerrilla grow, and man I was happy to find it b/c I would have lost the strain forever.

really? thats incredible. so is it feminized b/c in essence its a female pollinating itself? rather than a male pollenating a female?

Yea let it ride, I got a bubba kush that hermied on me on week 4 now. I'm gonna have some nice bubba kush fem. seeds and some dank smoke.

The only thing with fem. seeds from hermied plants is they're at a higher risk of being a hermie plant too, so you gotta be careful and keep a close eye.

Hey I don't know for sure but with about 3-6wks left won't that produce alot of seeds? I had a blue widow hermie on me late into flowering. I let it go a week maybe a week and a half. and I kinda got quite a few seeds from all the nugs that were underneath the nanners. Im just thinking with that much time left does the OP need to worry about getting all seeds? or does it take alot longer than that to get that many?

Also shouldn't you be pulling off the nanners as they grow it. THey will come back but if you keep plucking them it prevents more pollen being dumped into the room

one more thing that Im not positive of Im just raising the question, if you let pollen freely float around in your tent/area for that long that gives it time to go into fans, lights, floor, walls etc... Will that be a problem in future grows? After my plants were done I scrubbed everything for this fear the pollen would still be around to pollinate my next batch.

Im not an expert just thinking out loud maybe someone has better insight.

The old myth that hermie mothers produce seeds prone to hermie is just that...a myth. I did a project this year with seeds from a stressed plant, like yours. I planted 20 beans, 16 of them were straight females with no tendency to hermie and the other 4 were straight male. That's almost 90% feminized. With one exception, this one single seed I got that came off an 8 foot in-ground plant. Why this works I don't know, must be one of those female hormonal things...lol

That's good to know. This is my 3rd run of my bubba kush and it's the first time one of them has hermied, I look forward to experimenting with ''it's'' seeds...

It happens, you should really check your room for light leaks, may be cause for her hermie, let her go if she is all you have and enjoy.
Also scrubb that room down good before starting a new girl in there so she won't get polinated

I've had them with no pollen or underdeveloped as well, kept on eye on them and smoked the nanners eventually.

they definitely have pollen in them. I will make sure to pick them all off. either way like you say I will end up with some good seeds. it would be nice though if I could end up with a fat ass blunt to smoke too.
