So what i have an advanced degree in forest ecolgy blah blah blah
Ok agree to disagree on gynu, andro, etc. Obviously you need to read more poulation dynamics dr. It is not just female, it is females making females exclusively, separate dynamic.

But in summary monecious hemp strains and nannered plants are just showing phenotype but arent really in the genotype, right....thats your assertion or am i wrong.

Yet, monoecious plants exist and are spreading. Google french hemp and tell me something is still shit, I havent ever specified monoeciousness specific function, just that it exists, probably artificially, but we havent decoded the complete contig and scaffolds, to make that assertion, yet you and the Doctor are so sure....even making claims that monos are rare to non existent, yet two prominent example populations at least exist, why???????
Jesus fuck. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Honestly, I don’t either, because only about half of your posts make any sense at all. Monoecious cultivars of hemp do exist. It doesn’t change the fact that it has NOTHING to do with the shit we grow and breed. And you’re just using the terms incorrectly all over the place. You wanna overtake this thread with a bunch of bro science and half sensical statements, so be it.

Seeded weed can still produce balls and nanners!
less likely if not stressed. my point was it is a stress in iteslf if it doesn't get fertilized. maybe i wasn't clear enough, lot of stuff on my mind.

pressure=stress. genetic pressure/stress for not making babies, just like for a women, it's a biological drive and the plant will do what it needs to do in order to procreate and promote her dna for future generations.

I will never grow feminized seeds again as long as I'm growing. I pollinated some regular females with a hermie and everyone saying my seeds will be hermie. But every feminized I every grew was a true hermie so there's no difference if my seeds was to be hermaphrodites . Since growing regular seeds I'm good with determining sex around week 4/5 and never had a hermie . So I don't feel the need to ever grow feminized. I plant 20 seeds 17 would be female . But I'm also looking for the volcano shape on the seeds which has 80% chance to be females . Far as using more place not really because hermies take up more space in my opinion. Feminized seeds isn't how people grew in the 70s also they used regular seeds. This hermie shit from seed Banks crossing any strain that look good is B.s . just grow regular seeds and learn hiw to sex early .

Why wont you just answer the questions, teach us all something. Why doesnt it have anything to do with what we grow and breed? Dna analysis is proving you wrong, how about that little bit about phylos bioscience, apparently who do the exact same thing as you, they classify djs blueberry in hemp.
Why in the fuck are you also using hermie at all, since what is being described isnt hermaphroditism, all high and mighty. Whatever, I am not interested in personally denigrating you, like you to me, I am just trying to clear up some of the obvious contradictions, doctor, i cant type that with a strangelove, i mean straight face :)

Where is it proven that all cannabis spp. dont have these abilities in the genotype, thats part of the dilemma, you always hear common knowlege as " well dont pick herm stock, and you wont get herms" but what if its genetic and cant be bred out of any plant only extremely suppressed even in what we consider rock solid "regular" seeds.

i have a skunk#1 that I popped 8 seeds and they all hermied early...I had a Umass Sour D that hermied a bit very late in flower and the next two crosses inherited it. tossed em all

Hermaphroditism is an accurate way to describe intersex characteristics in plants. It’s also the common usage among cannabis growers, so it’s what I choose to use.

I can’t comment on how Phylos just their genetic analyses because I’ve never seen published data on how the perform them. I don’t know what genetic data they use, I don’t know the algorithms they use to analyze it. Without that knowledge, trying to ascertain anything from their stuff is pretty useless. Also, as far as I know, they use whatever names the samples were submitted as. So “hemp” could be literally anything. It’s also reliant upon the samples that were submitted. Basically, take any genetic data with a grain of salt, because there are any number of issues that could lead to incorrect relationships.

Aloha.
I am noticing a trend I today's seeds, compared to when I first started buying seeds almost 20 years ago.
Back then, I didn't get any herm issues with seeds.
Nowadays, so many herms seem to appear. Even from so-called good breeders.
What has happened??
You guys have some theory's as to why, if you have noticed a similar trend?
Purely genetics. Damn inbreds.
All these feminized seeds and autos. Has completely ruined the gene pool.
A lot of breeders dont have any passion, at all these days.
They have more cents, than sense, and just dont care.
Some others just dont know any better.

Many breeders today are tossin two elites together and hoping for elite offspring with some stability. This is not at all the same as growing very specific strains for generations and constantly making reasonable selections, and bringing favorable traits to the fore. The ancestral mothers of many American strains did have stronger herm tendencies and that will come through, especially in a larger universe of growers.

In my experience no regular seed have every turned into a hermie not to mention I use to stress my plants out alot and no issue with hermie. My reasons for regular seeds was price and I recently wanted to try feminized and that's when I experienced hermies . This is just my experience
