I've been very happy with drain to waste hydro in Sunshine Mix Advanced #4. My plants keep looking better. Oh and I use Dyna Gro Foliage Pro, Bloom and ProTekt.

I find that DWC is cheap and easy. Bucket, net pot lid, air pump and stones, hydroton, nutes ,suppplements, and water treatment.

Advanced Nutrients, 3-Part, Ph Perfect, with the Hobyist Grow bundle is made for the noob, easy to use and almost idiot proof at 80% srtrength.

If you're an experienced grower, you might want to consider Aero.

Have fun
