Actually I really like the heavy body high that indica's give over a racey strain. However I bought DP from the Dutch Passion Amsterdam website because it was good for the English weather. It did state that over time its been crossed with some indica genetics, so it's actually not a 100% sativa.
I planted my 3 DP seeds on May 27th, and they take about 8-9 weeks. They should be harvested around August but I have a feeling mine will go slow and it will be late September.
I think I will start a grow journal actually, I like looking back

This is my first year growing in pots. I have always just added the mixed soil to the hole. There is always some theft of water and ferts from the neighboring trees, bushes and weeds. And growing in planted pines, you only have a couple of years before they outgrow the spot. I was going to redo the hole where I grew the Deer Ate CP1 last year, and there was no usable sun. The trees had grown 2-3 feet, and the weeds were already over head high. All that extra growth was from the food and water I gave the plant. Since it isn't my land, I don't cut or lean over any of the pines. I will cut or pull down trash trees if needed.

Sometimes I have a seedling that gets away from me. This white fire was started in a damp paper towel and transplanted from that to seedling starter mix and put under cfl. She got a really stretched neck due to color spectrum mistake DUH!!!. I put her under 400 watt H.P.S with a fan on her to toughen up the stem and a couple weeks later she became this beefy but long plant

Then I trim off all the lower crap and cotyledons and knock her out if the cup open up the root balkgently not wild ape like lol. Dig a new hole and re pot.

Cannabis is a tough plant dont let her fool you. This is what Ive done for 3.5 million years and it probably makes everyone cringe but.... Never an issues. Water abd right back under HPS!

That's lovely to see!!
People are giving me much hope now. I have a good LED on them and a fan making them dance a bit. If I feel the stem still isn't strong enough by Friday then I will transplant again and deepen it.
But they're looking very healthy and vibrant
Happy growing and keep me posted! Love seeing the progress of other people's plants.

Doesn't cutting off the bottom risk losing some bud though? I'm not down for that haha. Plus I'd be too scared to scrape so close to the root.

Cut off and scrape? No, lol. Just dump the plant out, fluff up the roots a little , replant. Cut off the lowest crappy leaves and BURY THAT STEM DAMMIT !!! LOL no, there is no bud loss with this method. Did you think id be down with a compromised harvest????? Bwaaaahaaaahaaa fuck no lol.

I wouldn't worry too much as long as you support them in a few week they will be doing a lot better no point in wasting money just make sure when you re-pot to only leave a few inches of stem it happen to me a few week ago my mate didn't put the seeds far enough in they are quite resilient I actually had to spiral the stem and fill with more coco just had to be gentle but it depends how soft the stem is also good to see someone else from England

I've been replanting seedlings all week. Rain, rain, rain and no sun will make for some leggy seedlings. Here are a few I did this morning that were way too tall.

.England's going to shit though. I'm originally South African but have lived many years here. Good place for opportunities but the country's going downhill day by day.

Yes 100%. I ended up supporting them with sticks and deciding not to listen to the people that are yelling at me to cover up the stems immediately, and they've been doing amazing. I removed the sticks a while ago now and they're still standing strong. The fan has helped with thickening the stem's for sure. Next time I transplant I will definitely cover a lot of stem though as it's stupidly long, but for now they seem absolutely fine.

Durban is my go to wake and bake, motivational strain. I smoke it and immediately want to go do something. My friends all notice the same effect. I'm in the NE USA at 42lat and outdoors they always finished the 3rd week of September. I've learned when the ferns in the woods around yellow out, the Durban will be done in about a week. Indoors they look good around 65 days, they do finish petty quick for being sativa heavy.

And to offer something classic... plants don't need support, or scrog, or fog or any other bullshit netting or poles. They do just fine on their own.

Well that's definitely what I need, being the unproductive person I am. Yeah I've heard Durban Poison has a very distinct taste that people either love or hate. Someone said it was like liquorice which is fine for me 'cause I love liquorice, hah.
Ferns in the woods? Sorry it's 5am and I'm probably zombified and being dumb but not sure what that is. Nevertheless thanks so much for that info because I worry about harvesting too early/too late. Trichomes are the only thing I know about checking.
Exactly, I picked it because it was a easier strain to grow in England AND it's damn fast

I have been thinking about this... For the past few grows my seedlings have sprouted and stretched like crazy no matter what I did.. More light, less light, fan, no fan etc..
I recently popped a seed under 12/12 and it's been vegging for 3 weeks. It's the nicest looking seedling I have ever had. It's short and has nice big fanners on it. A perfect start.
This makes me think about nature. In nature the seeds would sprout in the spring when days are still short. So maybe from now on I'll veg the first few weeks under 12/12.
See the baby on the left.. She's kind of pale which is interesting, but she has the same soil and environment as the others.

These ferns. When they start yellowing around here, the Durban will be close to done, usually about a week left, if it's flowing outdoors. Your times will vary slightly, but I'd think it would be fairly close. Where it's heavy sativa, the ones I've grown never really ambered, just got real milky with a few ambers. I ran one 10 weeks indoors and it didn't amber up much more, I think I lost some potency also. I try helping out Durban grows when I see them, it's an awesome strain that doesn't get much attention.
