Help With Darkroom Setup

The old white interior Hydrohuts were toxic due to the glue I believe. The new ones are safe and have a silver lining in them instead of white. I bought the 2 by 4 by 6.5. Its pretty cool and you can run up to 8" ducting through the exhaust ports.

The hydrohut uses no plastic pieces that attach the frame together. Its all steel poles. I got a 6" can fan in a box hanging from the frame attached to a sealed reflector hanging as well.

Ahhhhhh I see I see...I like that setup. I bet its kool as a cucumber?

Just more ducting in my tent...
This thread has been very helpful to me.

Whoevers picture that is showing how the cooltube is vented was a big help. thanks again.

Also can you explain what is right behind that exhausting the air outside the tent. Is there a filter on there? Also what kind of fan?

I am in the very early stages of getting all my stuff setup in my tent. Any good info would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Can you explain your ventilation a bit more. That is very similar to how I want to do mine. If you could break it down a bit for me like what kind of fan and where you put it as far as the one venting the aircooled hood. Then I'm guessing that behind your hood that is some kind of inline fan and maybe a filter going up and out of your tent?

Thanks in advance it will really be a big help for me. I'm ordering most stuff from htg I believe unless there are better places to get everything from?

air flows in the cooltube from left to right with a fan to the right sucking all the hot air off the bulb

all fans are sunleaves windtunnel

yes that black thing is for odor. its a filter

nice setup blunts, i have a buddy who i trained in the ways for the ganja

i told him to get the darkroom 4' 11" x 4' 11" x 6' 7"

i gave him a 600 watt hps and a 400 watt hps to put in there, anyway hes got a great pheno of ww budding in there

anyway i saw a post where that guy subcool (suposed guru) said if your putting a 600 watter in anything smaller than a 6x6 room your wasting light

so although that sounds too big a room for a one 600watter

i was gonna suggest to my buddy to put the 600watt hps in the middle of that 5'x5' dark room and use the 400watt in another area.

and now i stumble on this thread where u got a 1000 watter in your 4'x4' tent

so just curious everyones thoughts on this seemingly unresolved issue

also if you can advise about how much yeild do you get with the 1000watter?

600 watts to cover 6x6? or more? wow waste of light? didnt know that was possible

yes, i like overkill

3lbs per 1k light should be everybody's goal ;)

for real 3 lbs?

with 1 1000watter? what strain, hydro or soil, which nutes, what brand bulb

more info pls:bigjoint:

2.5-3lb per 1k light is the goal

sometimes ya dont always get it...but damn sure close

strain doesnt really matter, sure it does but thas relative.

rolling with some heavy hitters right now....white russian and hashberry. most of all my strains are heavy yield hitters. i also grow mostly single cola plants

i cant grow a thing in soil...its only coco or aeroponics & hydroponics

im currently using modified gh3 with some hammerhead. but my favorite nutes are Canna's line with all the additives and supplements. However, i plan to try House and Garden

i use hortilux bulbs. i have a 1000watt Hortilux Blue for vegging when i feel like it and for flower i have a 1000watt Hortilux Super HPS hybrid bulb (400mh 600 hps all in one bulb)

interesting stuff

i currently have 1 600watter above a 5'x4' canopy of 6 plants. plants are about 5 ft right now growing cherry lime ricky its a cross of jack flash x ak47. shooting for 20 ozs but this strain is not a super high yeilder, i grew 3 clones last time and only got 10 ozs, so this time i grew them real tall and spread them across 4'x5' canopy area

plus i doubled the plants from 3 to six so hopfully:mrgreen:

wow cherry lime ricky sounds good...

im guessing i wont be able to get that

and wow @ 5' plants

i only wish i could let mine get that tall....

i cant wait for my dream house with 9-10' ceilings

2.5-3 lbs per 1000watts? That's over 1.3 grams per watt, when most people struggle to
even get CLOSE to 1 gram per watt. I'm not sure about your numbers. Don't get me wrong,
it would be great to get that kind of efficiency, and maybe it can be done with perpetual
gardening. But between 0.5 - 1 gram per watt is about the norm, with most people getting
closer to 0.5

16 ounces = 448g x 3 = 1344g/1000w = 1.34 grams/watt

No, nothing at all wrong with a goal. That's why I said it would be great if we could all get
that kind of efficiency. No offense, I wasn't putting you down. I was just surprised when you
said 2.5-3lb per 1000w. I had to think about that one for a minute.

correct, just around 1.3 like i said ;)

and also...here is something to consider

if the yield scales are based off x amount of grams per m2 under 400 watts of light

and i have strains that do at least 350-450 grams per m2....

why WOULDNT i be able to achieve my goal (which i have) with a 1k?

Well, that's because the 350-450 grams per m^2 is not per plant.
That's per square meter, regardless of the number of plants. (or wattage)

I'm not saying you can't or haven't done it. I'm just saying it's not typical.

Obviously with a lower watt light you get less than ideal yield, and with higher
watt lights you get higher yield. But there is of course a point of diminishing
returns where you simply can't push a plant past physical or genetic limits.
