My seedling is probably about a week old going from the time I began germinating; so 4 days in soil. Today I woke up an noticed one of the leaves drooping a bit; when I came home tonight I noticed both leaves were drooping badly.

I could really use any advice or instructions you can give me, this is my first grow.

I will attach some pictures. (these are from earlier today, it has gotten worse)

What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...)
First time grower.

2) Distance from tops?
2-8 inches.

3) Reflector type?
12 inch round clamp reflector with 350V/660W concrete socket.

4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply?
Yes.

5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan?
Yes.
One 6 inch desk fan (face towards the plant) and two 10 inch fans (one for exhaust one which is over the light and one for intake over the plant
I am not sure on what configuration I should be using with the fans.

6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule?
200 Watt equivalent (65 Watt).
4100 Kelvin.
4200 initial Lumens.
3360 mean Lumens.
24 hours of light.

Your medium:
7) Specific brand and type of soil, and anything you've added to it.
Miracle Gro Seed Starting Potting Mix for strong root development. (90-95 percent peat moss and perlite with nutrients derived from ammonium nitrate, ammonium phosphate, calcium phosphate, and potassium sulfate.

8) Size of container.
4.5 inch round x 4 inch tall standard ceramic pot.

9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings?
No.

Your nutrients and water:
10) Source of water? (tap, bottled or filtered) What's it's ph before adjusting?
Tap water (city).
6.2

11) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...)
Light/Moisture/pH pen.

12) Method of adjusting water ph.
Aluminum Sulfate for lowering the pH.
Hydrated lime for raising the pH.

13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule.
I have not begun giving the seedling any nutrient solution; I do have a 4 fl. oz. dropper with organic concentrate 10-15-10 ratio solution.

14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering?
1/2 Cup, twice daily.

15) Any additives or tea's?
No.

16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?
Stable

17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
6.5
Have not tested the runoff pH.

18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?
No.

Your growroom:
19) Indoors or outdoors?
Indoors.

20) What size of closet, room or hut?
Closet (16.5 inch x 24 inch x 8 foot).

21) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off?
85 Degrees Fahrenheit with 30-45 percent relative humidity.
Lights are on 24 hours a day.

22) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom?
No.

Your strain:

23) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?)
Not sure of the actual name of the strain; Sativa dominate.

24) From seeds or clones?
Seeds.

25) Is this an autoflower strain?

That's allot of info man. So what is your question...seems you have already answered most on your own.
I see a few things...overwatering
raise Humidity...if you can spray with water.
light 2-8" which one?
uhhhhh anything more ask?

I will begin spraying with water now.
Um, i am not sure where I should actually be positioning the light.
I was keeping it at 8 inches when I put the germinated seed in the 4" pot; I read in a few books and guides that I should get it as close as possible so I have had it approximately 2-3" from the top of the seedling.

now you are actually asking questions.
keep lights @least 8-12" away to start off.
you are just over watering and have them too close right now
relax dont water for awhile
sit back
smoke a bowl
relax

Sound like you are writing a book too.lol.
When you over water the roots can't breath!
More harm than good.

looks pretty normal to me. Those leaves aren't important after the seedling sprouts anyways.

As for air circulation, I like to have an oscillating fan blowing on them. It will help the plant to grow a thicker stem and be more sturdy than w/out. Other than that, you just need to be able to vent any hot air out of the grow environment which will bring in all the fresh air you need.

It looks fine. Just don't put that 200w CFL even CLOSE to 2" at this point. 8" away at least.

BTW where did that question tempate come from? Did you write them yourself?

I am not sure where I got the template; I just saw it yesterday on a random forum and copy and pasted it to a notepad document just in case I was having any problems. It is pretty helpful though!!

Thank you lime, Pipe dream, sonar, metroplex, and pureblood for the reassurance.
I am going to check on it (hopefully her) right now!

1/2 Cup, twice daily.
overwatering I believe, you should only water once every 2 days....or stick your finger into the soil and feel the moister...if top is dry and middle way through is moist, you dont have to water.
even in your pictures I see the medium looks really wet.... let it dry out some and when the soil is dry then water......try to water around the perimeter of the medium, this will promote the roots to spread out searching for that moister...goodluck keep us updated

Alright guys. it has been almost two days and I am not sure we are looking any better. Attached is a picture I just took. There still are not any true leaves and I am beginning to worry.

EDIT: Temperature is sitting at 76 degrees Fahrenheit and relative humidity was 36 percent.

Just attempted a transplant. the cotyledons looked as if they were going to fall off; but the top of the seedling is still green!

I transferred my plant to a 4"x4" ceramic pot with draining tray. I filled 1-1.5" of the pot with Mosser Lee River Rock for good drainage and the rest with an all organic growing mix soil consisting of Canadian sphagnum peat moss, volcanic Perlite, Natural Dolomite lime, and a natural organic fertilizer.

I think I over watered my last soil to the point where it was so compact that either my roots were completely flooded or constricted.

When I transplanted it i noticed there was barely a root system formed besides the initial one from germination. It doesn't look dead yet and I am going to keep trying to salvage this plant.

Mine is doing that exact same thing. I moved the light away and haven't watered for somewhere approaching 40 hours now (surprisingly difficult but then I suppose I am a new plant mum!) and she's straightened her leaves out a bit... I haven't moved her yet as I don't want to stress her out and I think her pot's big enough (5 inches tall, round normal shape terracotta pot) for now. I AM using shitty soil from the garden though, as I have absolutely no money for anything which isn't toilet roll and bread for the next 10ish days.

Good luck to you and yours!

Are you growing it in a closet or cabinet or something?

It definitely looks over-watered... It's not a bad thing to let it dry out for a day or two between each watering, to give those roots both a chance to breathe, and a reason to stretch out looking for moisture. That's how ya get a good healthy root system man. Get a feel for how heavy the pot feels after a good watering, then only give it a drink when the pot feels much lighter... Impossible to drown your babies that way.

The intake fan should be on one side at the bottom, and the exhaust should be on the opposite side, at the top. This way, there's cool fresh air being sucked in, the circulation fan inside blows this nice fresh air across the plant, then the warmed stale air is sucked out the exhaust at the top. As you know, heat rises....

Give that a try, see if that baby doesn't perk up.
