Just started 3half weeks ago and it's 1st time doing this, its about 8" tall and it's name is unknown, where do I cut for when topping plant so I can get 2 grow tips, also how big should it be before I start to prune. HOow far should I keep the light from the tops of plants.

Sorry bro, I try to make sure I hit all the 0 reply threads. This one must of slipped past me.

I grow small single stem plants. I try to keep them that way so I can fit more in a space. Although what I do is when I start flowering(first week) I cut the top node off. This will give me 2 big buds up top.

Now for my mothers I top them all the time. I want them to have as many branches as I can.

If you only have a few plants then toping them may be a good thing. Keep them bushy and not so tall so light can penitrate the leaves.

Thanks for the reply, it helped so we will see what happens. Just wanted to know about fruit flys. Do they harm or wreck the plant and how do I get rid of them. I just spotted 3 and I can't find anything about it. Also have you heard of "BRAIN CANDY OR COTTON CANDY" weed.

Those are not fruit flies they are fungus knats. Buy an insecticide that lists knats and mites as things it will control, Spray your plants and the growing medium, toe times the first week and then weekly to maintain. Fungus knats lay their eggs in the growing medium and the larvae feed on the small root hairs and the nutes. You plants will show stunted or slow growth. Must be dealt with. VV

Lets not rule out fruit flies here :) however unlikely. I had maybe 2-3 fruit flies find their way into the grow area after leaving the door outside open on the first cold night of the year.
