evening all,

need some guidance, I’m a seasoned smoker but after 20 years I’ve finally decided to DIY my first batch... done some research on when to harvest, pistils are pretty much all brown across the plant, however Trichomes are clear/milky in colour - can’t really pinpoint any amber tri’s?
from the photos do u think I should wait another week or 2 or should I start to flush now?
thanks in advance

It’s only a baby, think I had the LED’s to far away during growing, it’s been flowering now for 6 nearly 7 weeks....

while I’m hear any recommendations for distance from LED lights, I read somewhere 18-20 inches but speaking to a mate he suggested that was to far and could be why the plants so small

I purchased a small handheld microscope, put my camera over the lens to take those photos, it does the job and is a big help to gauge, it does look like a lot are still clear/cloudy. Looking forward to harvest these and start my next batch - fingers crossed a better sized plant

The brown pistils recede into the buds when she's ready I was told. I'm still new too. Still haven't done my 1st harvest yet. I'm a couple weeks away.

Light distance I guess would all depend on the light. It's usually 16-18 inches from the top of the canopy.

Look into LST for your next run. It can help increase yield by bringing those smaller bud sites to life.

I’m so jealous mine are like 5 times smaller dunno what I did, maybe the pots were to small (only 3ltr) maybe I need a stronger light or I had the light to far from the canopy , I’m just happy to be finally giving it a go! It’s taken me 3 months to grow this small thing... I’ll probably smoke it in a week

3 months isnt much time. Did you 12/12 from seed or something? With an 8 week veg i finish out somewhere around 5 months.

That's a photo period tho so it's gonna be bigger than an auto.
Yea ma... that's definitely too small of a pot. Try 5 gallon pots. I'm using 5gal fabric pots for the autos. I want them to get about 2ft tall with LST.

Smaller pots = less root growth.. and in turn you end up with less plant. I have seen a 5ft tall plant in a small ass pot tho.. looked like a nursery pot. wasn't much bud on it tho. IDK how the hell that happened. lol

Also I wouldn't go by the tric's on the sugar leaves. I was told they can get amber heads before amber even shows up on the bud. Try to focus on the bud. We are in the same boat right now. If I learn anything new I'll be sure to pay it forward.

Thanks bro, I’ll keep adding photos and updating as I go over the coming weeks, I’ll take your advice on the pot size these things are way to small to be honest... the plants are healthy so I did something right only tinny and buds are small... when did u switch to 12/12 or are u using auto flowering seeds?

It's not ready.

Loads of N left in those leaves, let her fade to a slow death and spend all those nutrient rich leaves.

None of the plants pictured are ready to harvest.

The plant i showed you is from bag seed I found in some pretty good bud.. so I planted it... it started to sprout.. So I bought the whole set up for a 2x2.. as she got bigger I got the 2x4 to flower in. I will be running 3 different auto strains next run tho from AMS.
