It's nice (sarcastically) to see that things here are all still the same, only the names (most) have changed..... I still cant see why fdd has to get all this flack over an internet forum. If you know him outside of RIU, even if only online, you would know that he is a good dude, just gets a bad rap here for innumerable reasons.

In my opinion, the man is in jail.... we should either stand behind him, or shut the fuck up about it... incarceration is NOT a choice time to vent your e-frustrations on the oldest (and only for awhile) 'mod' we've had on this forum....... Talk about kicking a man while he's down..... nobody seems to give a shit that he's got a family that loves and depends on him. :/

If you ask me, you have NO clue what kind of 'karma' that man has invested.... good or bad. Life is not what you do on an internet forum. Though I can see why some people have 'issues' with him on here, I can even more so understand his point of view. Not putting up w bullshit on an internet forum, when its all voluntary work; does NOT give credence to "karma" coming back around.

the fact that the riu-uppers here that know him and wont link info is a GOOD thing in my mind.... there are plenty of people here that know me in 'real life', and i would be pissed if they linked a news story to my online persona, thus putting me out there on all kinds of shit.... I hope it stays this way for him here.

its the compassion one shows to a fallen friend (or not) that truly makes them "real" people, living in the real world. This IS the american way, to pull together and put differences aside to help someone out thats in need. So why cant we as a people in whole see it that way and just help when help is needed? For the haters, they need not open their pie holes and just listen instead.

"Real" people are getting harder to come by with every passing year in our new digital age. There is no empathy and compassion rampant as it used to be. We are quickly converting to the 'me and nothing else' mentality of the 21st century. Welcome to the new american way, now you can have it YOUR way

So youre saying as we as a populace get smarter, were getting more ignorant to others? thats BS. i dont know where youre living, but where i am EVERYONE is compassionate to everyone they interact with. my city is quite big yet hardly any violence and when someone is "fallen" theres 3 people at least in line to help. Reguardless of race, hatred, whatever the case may be. We cant let ourselves think like you do, its thinking like that, that gets america into trouble over seas.

It both scares me it could be RIU related and deeply saddens me to see such an iconic figure of this site in this situation, some people may have issues with him but he's done more for this site over the years than they ever have. It hurts whenever we lose a member of the real family on this site have something happen to them. I may not be the most active poster but I've been here about four years whenever something like this happens it shakes the foundation of the community. We already lost stoned pony and there was nothing we could do about that but if there is anything I can do whatsoever to help turn this situation into a positive outcome I will. Fdd I am not a religious man but I'll say a prayer for you tonight and hope your ok.

to understand anothers situation and to actually care are two wildly different things. Me thinks you read too much, or not enough into the thoughts I was trying to convey there. No need to bring our international relations into the 3sentences I typed out. I'm just saying that I FEEL that people are losing their humanity over the past few generations and moving more towards a egocentric mentality. There seems to be no tangible "group" or collective "humanity", only ourselves and what we want for said selves, but rather just a 'take care of num. one' mentality that rules as the norm.

I sure wish I lived there where you are Big Bill . I don't know FDD but still regardless of a spat or whatever jail sucks and is in no way a place to wish anyone into regardless of that . I would like very much to be a member of a more unified community that will help those who belong to it . Best of luck to FDD and if we can help we should I will if theres a way to .

i kinda hate the city but at the same time love it here because its the perfect place to raise a family. Which is the whole reason i moved here from cali 6 years ago.

I would like to live in a utopia as well.... unfortunately, NOLA is far from a 'utopia'. We get by on our own here, and we look out for our own here. I thought it was a bit depressing growing up, but at least we got each other... Seems one cant ask for that much from their "online communities"
