AFL-F14T5 14w 830 is what original bulb reads. two of my bulbs went out and it it a 2 ft lap fixture but when i bough what i thought would fit it it didnt. anyone have experience on how too know actual bulb length? will be posting pics tomarrow. but need too order new bulbs asap. it is a ten bulb 2ft t5 diy with a width of about a foot and length of 2 ft =)

yeah youre right it is. but i guess what i was asking was how do you measure the bulb length bc i know its a ''2''ft lighting but i bought a ''2'' foot bulbs and it didnt fit. do you measure from end of pin too the other end or just from base of pin too other?

I really doubt that one AFL-F14 would be different length from another, so my suggestion would be to take your 'home made' thing with you when you go to the hardware store, and look for a bulb, and hold the new one next to the old one and compare it.
If that doesn't work, adjust your 'home made' thing.

thx mr cool guy

Just take an old bulb to Home Depot or Lowes and compare to get the right size bulb.Take note of the correct size because a 24 inch fixture could use a 23 inch or 22 inch bulb........Make sure to buy the whole box:)
