Jillybean, cheesequake, and qush. Just depends what you're looking for.
I cant germ using that method or with rapid rooters but I get 100% by soaking the seeds until the sink (usually 6-12 hours but I keep giving them a stir here and there until they are saturated and sink, once they sink I get them out of the water because they can be over saturated.......) then I get a solo cup with a couple holes poked into it/small pot filled with FF light warrior and water it until its soaked, put the seed in and put it under either flouros or a cfl on a timer set to an 18/6 light schedule and walk away, usually in less than 3 days I'll have sprouts. The last time which was recently I germed 13 beans and all 13 popped, the time before that I forget the # but they all popped and the time before that I did 20 and all but one sprouted, it germinated but it pushed itself out of the soil somehow. I just think this way is easy and it cuts out as much human contact as possible after soaking them.
Me and the paper towel method dont work, I screw it up somehow. Putting them straight into rapid rooters is good and what sub recommends but again I screw that up by either keeping them too wet or letting them dry out too much, I cant find the happy medium with them for some reason..... But they are really good if you can figure out how to use them, and once you do your good but I hate the thought of blowing seeds because I cant figure out the proper moisture so I only use them for clones... If and when I do some breeding with an abundance of seed on hand I'll sit there and get it right but for now the light warrior in a cup after a soak has given me 100% every time so I'm gonna stick with that.
Edit: As far as male to female ratios this last run of 13 beans I got 9 females.

As I said, I'm going with Jilly Bean and Vortex this next run, but would like some cheese in the future.
Seeds are seeds so one is not any more or less likely to survive paper towels, which I personally consider a waste. Been there, done that. I soak overnight in 80F water, then plant in 1 gallon pots. 3-4 days later they surface, coated with the microbes I want. A paper towel is a barren, hostile environment.

I got horrible success using the paper towel method, wasted hella money on beans that way...
This is how I germ, Sub posted it on breedbay years ago, I've never not had a seed pop doing it this way...
