If you're two weeks from harvest it's too late for predatory mites. Predatory mites have to build a colony before they'll start to take over, and that takes time which you don't have. Mite Destroyers or Pirate Bugs are a better option, they go to work right away & don't need to build a colony.

You can also use a petroleum based product, this is the only thing that I know of that kills the eggs. You may be able to find one at your local nursery or hard ware store, but just in case here are some links.

And this is a link to a good web site to get info on many different types of pests. It's run by the FL Dept of Agriculture & the Univ of S FL Agricuture dept. http://entomology.ifas.ufl.edu/creatures/

If you want to verify that petroleum will kill the eggs, look up spider mites and click on the first link at the bottom. You will see there in the last paragraph on Spider Mites that "Petroleum oil provides some ovicidal activity against spider mite eggs." which means it kills eggs.

This product is a suffocant and it's all natural an can be used up until the day of harvest. You should also use other suffocants in addition to this, I would also suggest Mite X. You can find that at nurseries.

For other natural suffocants that you can use this far into your flowering period I would suggest calling your local nursery and asking the horticulturist to recommend a good product that's all natural.

Good luck & good hunting.

Mineral oil, or common baby oil, should get rid of mites. Find the finest atomizer you can, and spray from the botom up slowly. As you near the top, you will notice the mites gathering there. Place a heavy metal object near so they can get off the plant, then whack them with a hammer.

Really, just spray real good and wait atleast a week to harvest. Mineral oil is very light, and don't leave residew. It will burn off with sunlight or indoor lighting...Kal
Do you mix the baby oil with water and then mist spray it on the plant or use 100% baby oil or what? Whats the ratios? Should I rinse the plant afterward with plain water? Thanks.

Hey, just wanted to report how the All Seasons Spray Oil is working.

I'm in veg and I have lady bugs that have kept the Broad Mite population to a minimum, but I haven't been able to get rid of them all together in about 5 or 6 weeks. So I started using All Seasons about 10 days ago, in concentrate it's 98% petroleum oil wich is supposed to be able to kill some of the eggs. It's only $13 for the small bottle of concentrate that makes 12 gallons.

I Sprayed with a pump type sprayer for the first two treatments which were 3 days apart. I saw 8 the first time I treated and 1 the second time I treated. I bought a $12 pump/air pressure type sprayer last night for the 3rd treatment, again 3 days later. I didn't see any mites at all last night.

I added Neem Oil from concentrate on the second treatment, but other than that it was all the All Seasons. I'll treat 2 more times keeping the spacing at 3 days, but there's a good chance they're already gone. This stuff works good.

You can use an insecticide, but if they're already immune to it, then it wont do much good and they'll get worse. This stuff is a suffocant and mites can't become immune to it. Just make sure to spray everything. Both sides of the leaf, the stem, soil, planter, drain pans, mylar, carpet, floor, walls, etc...... Everything except the HIDs.

You don't want to spray the buds, but you can spray everything else right up until harvest, it's all natural.

If you have a bad infestation then I'd suggest using multiple methods including humidity on Spider Mites. But you should make this one of your methods.
