Help a dude out

I didnt water my seedling for like 3 days maybe even 4 depending on the soil. Make sure you have holes in the bottom for drainage or you will "sufficate" your roots. Roots need oxygen to thrive. Something I have been religios on is to check the soil. Stick your finger down in the soil and if it feels dry. Throw some water in it. If its moist, leave it be.
As for lights, I just upgraded to a 400W hps/mh, but Until about 2 days ago, I was using 4 26 Watt and 4 20 Watt 6500k CFLs (they are at walmart) for 7 plants (now 6) and they were looking great. CFLs can work great if placed close to the plant (2 inches or so).

ok but do you know why that one plant is dying and the other has droopy leafs? Yes I have prob 6 holes in the bottom of the cup so excess water can come out of it. And I have the light about a cm above the plant.

Save yourself some trouble, and get a good soilless medium like Promix. But judging by what you got there you need better lights+soil. Try checking out some other member's grows to see what a good "grow" looks like. And go from there.

yes it looks over watered. and if you over water with mg soil it will over nute your plants. Let them get good and dry before you water. water slow and well then let it dry ou again.

Jared, think you should try something simple for your first effort. I got every single thing off ebay for less than £30, everything. Keep it cheap and easy why you learn. make a simple box of wood, consider where you are gonna keep it and that will dictate your size. throw a few pc fans in, one flowing the air in, reverse the other and air flows out. Grab a few old mobile chargers, cut the ends of and attach to the red and black wires on the fan, chop of the spare one, usually blue. buy a sheet of mylar, or paint the insides white. get a couple of cfl's or a nice big one and attach via a simple light fitting socket, consider your wiring I always you lighting wire aposed to general wiring to prevent any fire risks. I got a cheap thermometer, humidty gage and that was it.

wiring - £4.00
Bulb - £12.00
fitting - £2.50
Mylar - £3.00
pc fans - £5.00
mobile chargers- all ready had these.

Simple, purchases for a simple first time grow. Now the important thing, dont skimp on your soil and perlite etc, nutes, water and attention to detail. Above all enjoy growing, by keeping it cheap you stand to lose nothing big whilst you learn the ropes. Dont spend the earth and get down when things go wrong. keep your first grow realistic and listen to others, too much reading can be confusing, but filter the consistent guidelines and enjoy your yield if it happens.

Ok what nutes would you suggest? and also when would I start the nutes? And what would a good started light be? a cfl is what I was thinking
Yes read on here the stickys on the forums. For a new guy i would suggest BuBBleponicsor soil grow in pots. If you are using CFLS youll want as many Lumens as you can afford.Stealth Hydro Sells a setup for like 300 that is very easy and has all you need and instructions to use it. www.stealthhydro.comIf you dont have loot like that. Mix some topsoil with organic ManureFill agallon pot with it and a bit of perlite if you can afford another 2 bux.Transplant your seedling as soon as you can. The older it is, the more traumatic.Buy a few spectrums of cfls. Large 3000 kelvin CFLS cost about 30 bux and put out 5,000 lumens you can also grab the bulb for a few seconds and not be burnt.I fond 6500 kelvin good for the veg stage and 3000 Kelvin good for BLoom and as many as you can afford.Veg for 6-8 weeks under 24 hour light, then flower for 7-9 weeks under 12/12 Light.Smoke a blunt and login to this wieb site and treat it as homework! read as much as you can and then when you got it down, ask questions pertinent to your set - upGood Luck
