Having trouble determining sex on this one

Hey all, I grew a bit outdoor plant this summer that yielded a few pounds of great bud. I found a bunch of seeds on the buds and decided to try and grow some to check their viability.

I don’t know if the plant was pollinated since many people are growing this year in my area due to recent legalization. I figured if I get any males from my seeds it means the plant was pollinated and not self seeded (hermied). From my understand if a plant hermies, it will only have female seeds with a higher tendency to also hermie. But if you get males then it was most likely pollinated.

I have two plants going right now and one definitely looks like it has balls to me. But going through different info I still am not 100 percent sure. Can anyone tell if this might be a male?

The one that looks male is the smaller one on the left and internodes are much further apart too

Thanks guys. Yeah I am thinking it’s male too. I might give it another week to be sure. Anyone know if this would mean that the plant I harvested the seeds from was pollinated vs self seeded then? I am actually hoping it was pollinated as it would be fun to see what my females buds will be like. And free seeds is good in my books. I’d rather grow seeds from a pollinated plants versus a hermie plant’s self pollinated seeds

Again, yes

Depending on which part of Ontario you're in you may have been pollinated by a nearby hemp field as well.

I'd give it another week or so and check again. Still looks a little early to tell. Most plants won't show a hair till at least the 6th node.

Thanks mate. I live in London Ontario and I’ve been told that there’s a hemp farm about 10km from me and have a feeling it could be that. I have heard pollen can really travel. Plus so many people were growing this year that are very new and may not have had any idea they had males lol. All my neighbours who grew different strains around me also found some seeds so it’s totally possible we were pollinated. I wonder if hemp pollinated weed would still grow a decent smoke. Guess I’ll see

Thanks for the input guys. I will wait a few more days and see. I took one of the pics here with my loupe and starting to look more like a tiny pollen sac to me. Will see what happens

I agree. Ive looked at dozens more photos online of male preflowers and this is looking more and more male to me. Also it’s tall and lanky compared to a female plant started the exact same time from seed. This pic I took just now, I am starting to see the male pollen sacs a little clearer. I guess I better discard of this one soon. But I might grow it another week just to see how it forms. Unless you guys think it’s better not to chance it. I have no idea when these things start opening up and dropping pollen.
