Hey

I have to make sure this is correct. I have been told that a good ph for Canninbis is 6. I used 6 for a while. My dad used 5.8 I was told that is wrong.

We both use the same soiless mix.

I would like to know what ph to use.
I want the run off of my soiless mix to be ph of 6 (according to a trouble shooting page)

6.3 is said to be the perfect ph level for soil, 5.8 is common in hydro set ups

Read those instructions carefully. If they are specifying a run off PH, there has to be a PH specified going in too, like 7.0.


EDIT.... wait a sec, you are saying "soiless" ..... If you started with 6.5 and the run off reads 6, then you are in the right area.

I run mine at 6.5 and haven't had a single problem. I ran around 7 last time and it was a bit too high, so I'd keep it between 6.2 and 6.8.

Yes since it is a little difference from strain 2 strain,I would agreed with this....good 1

Last time I checked. I used 5.8 and run off was the same.... I have a probe thing that tells me the soil is almost 8 but that cant be right.


so I need to know for SOILESS MIX what ph is best to use expecially considering the run off

I don't know what you mean by the run-off in a soilless system (hydro). are you running to waste or cycling your nutrients. ? I just test my rez ph


Oh you mean the nutes are water soluble so you feed when you water.

6.3-6.8 for soil growing.
5.5-6.1 for hydro grows.

I am using soiless mix. not hydroponixs. Not soil.

I was using ph 6 when watering and watering with nutes. I am told that soiless medium at ph of 6 is most ideal for absorbing nutes. I need to know what ph to water with so I know that my soiless mix has the right ph.... ( I was told you can check it from the run off which is the water the leaks trough the pot and into the catcher at the bottom. people are telling me to use 5.7 or 5.5 but this doesn't seem right. I need to be sure

i run soilless and heres what i do....

water -ph6.5
feed-6.0
water6.5
feed-6.0
the only reason i do this is because when i add nutes to the water it drops ph down significantly and i dont like the idea of adding base and nutes (im sure its fine to do so, i just dont like the idea). i think by watering every other time with 6.5 it aids in neutralizing the soilless medium.... but again its probably not neccessary. i aim to keep the medium between 6 and 7.
