Harvest time? (with pictures)

Hi all. I'm now at week 11 since putting these on 12/12 but they're probably been in flower only for 9 weeks. The top colas seem to have predominantly white hairs still and I can't see any amber trichomes but also can't really see any clear trichomes. Some of the lower colas have a large portion of orange hairs now.

I'm growing Power Africa in soil. Is it time to harvest?

Thanks

*Drools* hubba hubba those crystals look ripe for the harvesting but I don't know much at all really, just that it's ready when the crystals look less like blobs and more like mushrooms. Just had to say how gorgeous that plant looks!

My first post, but since you don't yet have any replies...here's my 2 cents: A couple of factors point toward today being harvest time. One is the fact that you have quite a bit of yellowing in the leaves, leading me to believe that your girls have put everything into those beautiful nugs. If you're just using soil and no supplemental nutes, then I'd say your soil is finished with not much left to offer. Second, I see a large % of orange/brown hairs. While that alone cannot be your guide, it tells us the time is near. I personally like to see much fewer white hairs before harvest. Also, if the nugs with whiter hairs are the more shaded ones, then those might not be the ones I would use as my guide. If all clear trichomes have disappeared, you're safe to chop IMHO. If this were my garden, I'd give those white hairs a few more days to orange up a little, but that's just me. Hopefully some more knowledgeable folks chime in here, as I have zero experience with this strain. Nice looking garden and congrats on your first grow!

Thanks guys. The hairs on the top buds aren't at all orange yet and still seem to be expanding out, so I'm tempted to leave it, but also don't want to wait too long and ruin the crop. I'll give them a few more days and see what happens.

My plan was to chop the whole plants down at once and then hang to dry for a few weeks. Main reason being, I'm not sure how I'd hang / dry individual buds but it's easy to just hang the whole plant. How do people recommend drying individual buds?

Well me being a Dr. and all I would not smoke them I can see sure signs of zombie rot in them and they must be destroyed before the people that smoke them become zombies. I will have a member of my staff pick up those plants immediately.

How many plants are you growing? No rule telling you that you have to cut them all down at once.

If you have only one plant, harvest only the ripe ones, then wait a few days to take some more, leaving the lower buds for another 2 or 3 weeks. This will give you the most from your plant.

very frosty buds dude,yummy.
Nice job for your first grow.
You grow like a veteran.
Was it easy for you or did you have some guidance along the way?
Just wondering dude cause there are of people here that know what they're doing and I always listen to the veterans in here.
Peace

I tried harvesting the most mature buds first then, as an experiment, I let the small popcorn buds mature for another 2 1/2weeks. The popcorn buds did bulk up some but not a lot. I dried and cured them and was very surprised when I smoked them. The high hit me immediately, straight to my head. It has a very stoney high, good for unwinding and sleep. I was initially going to use it for making hash but after smoking some I've decided to keep it as is. It's a good smoke to have around when I want to relax and try to go to sleep. I try to grow enough different strains to have a choice of different highs. I grow enough to last me for about 1 to 2 years so its nice to have a variety. Sometimes I get bored smoking the same bud for a long time.

Under microscope are the trichs half or completely cloudy? Don't worry about amber trichomes unless you are looking for a very couch lock high. I count the days from 12:12.
