Harvest time: Dryness or Bud rot?

Hi all,

I'm on day 83 of flower and a couple of my trichomes are still transparent in colour, no amber ones to be found in abundance as of yet, several on the main cola.

A couple of days ago I have noticed some of my buds on one side of the plant have developed darker calyxes and leaves (see images attached). I'm not sure whether this is the begining of the dreaded bud rot or that they are dry - I've been giving them less water as I am nearing harvest. The buds with the darker bits were near a heat source unbeknownst to me, this is why I suspect it may just be dry.

Attached are a healthy bud and the bud in question from the same plant.

On a side note, is it possible to cut off the buds that have reached peak potency and let the others go on for a while? Or does this produce too much stress.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the issue you're having, but you can harvest different buds from different parts of the plant at different times.

That's a good possibility as I stopped feeding it about 3 weeks ago to rid of all chemicals prior to harvest.
Is it an issue?
No, but it would be weird for them to show burn at this point of you haven't fed them in that long. Unless there was so much salt buildup in the media it's just starting to break down now. But that's still a long time.

Depending on rhetoric heat source I think it just got fried that's how my shit look when I don't realize she's touching the light

Trichs dont always turn amber. I took NL, and indica dom, 78 days and never saw and amber trich but those girls were finished after 65....

How did you decide when they are finished without the use of trichs?
For mine I have kept an eye on both trichs, colours of pistills (though new white ones had reappeared which are now slowly turning amber) and colour of bud itself. There's no pungent smell and the stickyness comes and goes.

The pistils recede and turn brown. The calyxs swell right up. And overall the buds just stop growing.
