I swear if California had a dick you'd be choking on it!!! Where is this math you speak of regarding Cali popping more seeds than the rest of the world? Spain, UK, Canada, Switzerland shits popping off everywhere son!! Only reason you hear so much about "California elites" is because of people like you man!!! While you're bashing on Amsterdam you might pull your head away from California's junk to research some of the greatest strains (and many that Californians breed with) from across the world. Shanitibaba = Black Widow, Super Silver Haze, Mango Haze. Serious Seeds Kali Mist and Ak 47 (shit how man variations of AK are in California??) shall I continue.. sure... Sensi Seeds - Jack Herer, Mr Nice, Ed R. Super Bud.... these strains and oh so many more can go up against anyones elites... speaking of elites, elites are just good phenos found regular seed packs ( i do mean regular I hate fem'd seeds) I mean all these "unknown genetic" clones are certainly just a bomb pheno of someone else's work, no secret there. Cherry AK 47 is a killer pheno, please pop 1000 seeds so you can find it!!

And are you stupid? you don't think people in other countries share cuts, pass around elites? How'd exodus cheese make it to the US?
dude sorry but im with Dan, the dankest shit has, is, and always will come out of cali.....80% of the time people across the country that dont agree and claim to have tried californias genetics either got fake shit or shitty outdoor i swear lol. People from outside of cali still try to tell me blue dream gets super purple and has a super heavy body stone...LOL ok.

I'm not trying to fight with you but it's not people like Dan who hype cali, our genetics and buds speak for themselves....top notch growers like dan are the people you can thank for those buds too....People with money, people who want the best are buying california genetics....

Exodus cheese? Isn't that just a skunk cross or something lol? California is a little past Cheese's.....

In 1997, I discovered a few seeds in a bud of Jack Herer I bought @ “Sensi Smile” coffeeshop in Amsterdam while there to buy seeds. I didn’t expect much when I grew them, but one of those seeds from the JH bud produced a very special female that I call “Princess”.

My 2 cents. Surfr and Dank, I think both of you guys have a lot of knowledge and experience to share. I agree with Dan on a lot of his points. I can relate to compromising quality with yield to squeeze the most money out of each run. Not saying Blue dream is low quality (it isn't), but so many are running it and honestly not showing a really good representation of the strain that it gets a bad name. Surfr you really open my eyes to Aliens gear and plan to get some of his gear. Really digging the fruity pebbles but will have to settle for his ARC. Sorry to ramble, but I am the type that don't like to sit idle while two people that I respect fight without making an effort to pass the peace pipe. :bigjoint:

Wow take the summer off and look what you come home to :)

..........snip...........And I have been smoking DANK for more than 12 years. ............snip..........
Ahh! That explains it.

This is 7th grade math here, it really shouldn't be this complicated for you to understand. The idea that every time you crack a pack of 10 seeds, you're getting some pheno that's better or even just as good as someone cracking 10k seeds is a fucking joke dude. You're basically bragging about being lucky to the point of statistical impossibility. You might as well be saying "every time I've flipped a coin in my life it's landed on heads every time". It's absurd.
Dan you did a very good job of clarifying your point. Unfortunately the kids, and young adults, of today just don't have the education we had. They can't be expected to comprehend a simple mathematical argument nor support a logical argument without resorting to an ad hominem attack. It's actually very sad.

Now back to trimming my Pre 98 Bubba Kush (definitely not an elite strain especially when grown by me LOL).

I think Surfr and I are judging strains based on different metrics. He's judging based off "what is the strongest strain possible". By that standard, no, blue dream is not an elite strain. I'm judging strains based on how well they serve their specific purpose. By that standard you can argue blue dream is the best strain ever created. When you consider strength, flavor, smell, yield, bud size, and density, I don't think there are many strains that good. If there were, everyone would grow them.

Surfr you really open my eyes to Aliens gear and plan to get some of his gear.
I agree with him on that subject btw. But again, the main advantage to running alien is the extra yield you're getting from otherwise low yielding strains. Alien OG is their version of Tahoe OG. It's not a higher quality bud than Tahoe, but it certainly gives you a much better yield. Alien bubba isn't as good as pre 98 bubba, but it makes way bigger, denser, and higher yielding.

Let it cure a while before knocking it! Pre 98 bubba is delish!
It's Cali Connections Pre 98 Bubba Kush BX. I just harvested, trimmed, dried and jarred the first one about a week ago. I was amazed that within 1 short week of being jarred it had gone from that awful cat piss smell it had when chopped to a wonderful strong lemony scent. It never went through a period of hay smell like the Nirvana AI does. So I decided I'd try a little. It was suprisingly good for as young as it is. I imagine after a full cure it will knock my legs out from under me. Right now it has a very clear soaring euphoria at onset, quickly numbs painful backs and hits fairly heavy if you don't lay down and go to sleep in about 45 minutes after smoking. I'm extremely happy with it.

Best of all it has the most wonderful lemony but deep sweet spicy flavor. I'm very happy with it, it turned out well in spite of me, LOL, and will be happier as my skills grow.

Anyway good to see you again.

Pretty much what I was trying to say but couldn't due to ingrish being my second language :)

Actually I believe tahoe alien is Aliens version of Alien OG from cali connect or vice verse, depending on who did the cross first. Tahoe alien is another strain I want to run to compare to the Alien OG. If I was smarter I would have kept running the Alien OG (people are still asking for it), it has great bag appeal, dense as hell, ok smell, and a very good yielder.

You too. Glad you're having a good time with it. Don't worry, you're growing skills will get better with time. When ever I start a new grow, it takes me about a year to get it running optimally. Just don't change too much each time and work on trying to perfect what you're doing and you'll be fine.

Actually yeah, that does sound correct.

I run Alien. As far as a dispensary strain it's fantastic. Not entirely thrilled on the smell compared to other OG's, but that yield with those nice dense buds make it worth it. I've found that letting it run extra long helps. Supposedly it's an 8 week strain but IMO unless you let it run 9 it's subpar. But letting it go 9 it turns out pretty damn good.

There is more to that story. They were reg seeds found in the jack bud. He had some males come out of the seeds too. What I find weird is that he out crossed with a shiva skunk from sensi before cubing... he had males to work with.
It's a stabilized pheno of some jack cross. But for all anyone knows princess could be a jack herer f2. One of the better strain still today...kinda like a blue dream...really good all around... Yield, potency, appeal.

Cindy 99 = Princess x Princess x Princess x [Princess(Jack x ?) x ShivaSkunk]

Hey Dan, is that DHN's Alien OG you run? That one did good outside this year, looking to see what it can do indoors : )

Yes. It's a top yielding strain indoors.

I'm thinking of trying purple alien OG. That's alien OG x SFV OG. If any of that SFV rubs off on the alien I think it'd be a big improvement.

Damn, I lost my Albert Walker last year. I didn't even get a chance to run it. At the time I couldn't get clone to root and it grew slow as hell. It was a weird plant and them stems almost looked brown.
Is it worth getting again?

What I ran was actually called purple alien og from midnight farms. It didn't turn purple at all but was a great yielder.

It's the single hardest plant to clone I've ever seen. Worth it though as long as you don't mind cutting 100 to get 15.

How was the flavor?
I'm not the best person at describing flavors. To be honest it was not memorable but the high was really good. It started out at the dome almost immediately with massaging pressure on your head and than works its way down to your shoulder. It's a great social high and one of my favorite. Really easy to grow and very vigorous. You can't go wrong with this strain.

Whoa! Just when I thought trying to clone Bubba was tough. Dan how do you do your clones? What have you found the most success with?
