Growroom design that allows me to take 2 week vacation.

there are plenty of guys using SIP's that only need to be watered once per week,,, with a res extender or auto top off device,, you could go 2 weeks easy,, you would need to have your lights high enough up of course,,
and a good lucky charm

I could see myself doing it with autopots. Need to use zero organics (Might gunk up lines, I force feed organics and deal with the consequences) and a pH stable nute solution.

I grow in a 2x2.5 environment with two plants and they each drink a little under half a gallon a day during flower. 20 gallon res with a recirculator? Could be done.

Did some research and found those smartphone controllable outlets.
You can set schedule if needed to turn on you light/water supply or you can just set it on or off. Just by taping on tn your screen where ever you are.
What do you guys think if ill make a drip system, with that smart switch.
Set cam to take pics when light are turned on and before they go out. Maybe add a somekind of moisture meter to the medium.
What are the options for coco coir? any solid moisture meters for that?
I could set moisture meter up like this that when my cam takes pics it will display moisture aswell.
Then i could easily water my plants with smart switch drip system.

So guys what do you think?

System redundancy. Choose multiple of everything where possible, ie if you need 1000w, get 2x 600w, if you need a 6" extraction fan, get 2x 4".
If you can find 1-pot dripper systems rather than a multi-pot that'd be ideal.

One of those remote control sockets and an electric winch or pulley and you could even raise your lights remotely.

Yeah i was thinking about making backup for most of the things, but i have really small space to work with. 60cmx60cmx120cm or 2'x2'x4'
And i wanna make DIY driper systems. 2 dripper rings per pot and both with their own nute tank..
And seems like DTW with coco is best way out there for my needs.
So i should order 2 submersible pumps aswell to get run off to waste tank. just in case one fails, then i dont need to worry about flooding my grow space.

And i could set live cam feed as well if needed. That would be nice, when i water, i could check for how much runoff i have and stuff like that.. :P

Large dirt containers. Holding tank with water/ nutrients. Moisture sensors in dirt to trigger timer that activate pump in holding tank. One plant goes dry, they all get watered, the rest are dry enough. Figure out how long to run pumps, 30 sec, 1 min, 2 min, etc. Cross fingers and hope nothing goes awry

I run a run to waste system its fully automatic which will last a week. But 2 weeks is a very long time the biggest problem that I see would be just the size of your plants.
I could mount a 3mm plexiglass 1/2' from the light. I know it isn't ideal solution, just to be on the safe side. If i get more familiar with strains in my future setup. I could add it if needed. or take it away.

Howdy folks!

So I'm a small time outdoor grower from far far north. Now i wanna setup a indoor grow , but the thing is that from time to time i can't check on plants for 2 weeks.
So i was wondering if you guys know how to do setup like that or if it's even possible..?
I don't know yet if ill make custom grow box from MDF or just buy 2'x2'x5' tent.
For light i'll use 4x CXA3590 CD 3500k and meanwell 1400mA dimmable driver. 12'' x 9'' heatsink with active cooling.
Gonna make DIY carbon filter n' stuff..

I'm a handy guy and i love DIY stuff, so i hope some of you DIY guys will climb in and share your ideas and designs to help me achieve that

So what are the best options to achieve that?
DWC, soil with automated watering, drip system? Any other ideas?

Cmn guys share your ideas!
any soil/coco setup and a simple drip irrigation or flood system would work for 2 weeks at a time easy.

Yeah, i'm thinking about growing in coco and DTW drip system. And maybe ill make 2 drip rings per pot, with 2 pumps just incase one fails. Plants will get 2 watering instead of 4.
pump#1 - first watering after 2,5h of light then 2.5h later pump#2 is used and so on...
Just thoughts at the moment..

should only be a problem for first few weeks of flower IMO they they basically stop growing vertically.

25 gallon soil grow and trim the plant down. Cover the exposed soil layer with a heavy mulch to conserve water.
