Growing Pot is Easy

Nahhh.... you ARE a nice guy.... I guess I just didn't like being called a 'muttonhead'. I'm pretty sure you were referring to the exchange with Wulk.... but none-the-less I wanted to point out that you have to expect a little ribbing when you start a thread like this. My post wasn't meant to be hurtful.... just a little good natured ribbing

HAHA!!! I travel a lot for business so I go through periods where I'm not on-line as often.
If you look at the times of your post and mine, its quite possible we were writing them at the same time.

I also thought your post was right. Nothing overly harsh. more pointing out the vibrato then anything else.

Life on the road. This make week 3 for me. Got 2 more to go so it seems.

I don't know about you guys.. but all my fine work has paid off, without a PH meter, testing kits, synthetic nutrients, etc. ^_^ This is my first grow by the way, my special little dwarf. I'm going to call her "Aurora"

She also has about 3-4 more weeks to go, I can't wait to dry her and cure her.

jesus who cares if she's a girl or she's 23 or whatever

the title of this thread should be "growing pot is easy, if you have the proper lighting"

.

if she wanted to save the plant she could by topping it way back down to the bottom (in other words cut it down to 6" or so tall) and going to wally world and grabbing one of those four packs of 23 watt CFL's for 7 bucks.

to sandstorm or whatever your name is you can save the plant and grow some decent bud, and you haven't completely wasted your time, the plant has a sturdy stem and well established roots i'm sure.

1) top the plant to about 6" or so, right above a set of leaves.

2) go to walmart and buy 4 x 23 watt CFL light bulbs (compact fluorescent lights, the energy efficient kind that look like little spirals) for 7 dollars, they come in a green box.

3) get some lamps and arrange them around the plant so the lights are around 3-4" away from the leaves.

4) run the lights for about 2-3 weeks for 18+ hours a day (most just leave it on 24/7) and let the plant bush out a little on the bottom, with adequate light cannabis is a very bushy plant, not tall and thin like yours.

5) get an electrical timer (4 bucks at walmart) and set your lights to run for 12 hours a day (it is important that it is in total darkness for the 12 hours the light is off so stick it in ur closet and keep the door closed at night.

6) after you make the switch to 12 hours light/12 hours dark the sex of the plant will show in 2 or 3 weeks, there are instructions on here to figure out if you have a male or female (it's pretty easy to figure out), then you've got about 5-7 more weeks of flowering and you should be able to get an eigth or a quarter off of it and if you harvest and cure it well it'll be some good smoke (assuming it ends up being a female)

or you could just skip step 1, and instead re-plant and start over steps 2-6.

edit, i read you are already on 12/12 everything still applies except i wouldn't top at this point if you've already started flowering. you really need to increase your light output or when the plant starts flowering (which requires FAR more energy than vegetative growth). i think the one thing you didn't really understand is that your plants extreme height is actually a natural adaptation for a plant that isn't getting adequate light. for example let's say the plant was growing in the wild but a lot of the light was blocked by some bushes, the plants natural response is to grow taller to get direct access to the light, which in your case is rather extreme as that is a very stretched out plant.

Well.. aren't you the singlehandedly most knowledgable person that has responded to this crap. and bwahah.. I already knew that this particular plant is much too tall and stretched out before I even posted the damned picture. Thing is.. if I wasn't so sure this plant is male (already know males have balls and females have white hairs out of the nodes, I do read) I might actually do the suggestions your talking about. those cfl lights are the spiraly shaped ones.. energy effecient and what not.. I'll probably get some of those on my next attempt at this. But really.. thank you, wasn't sure if I wanted to hack off the top of this bad boy until you suggested it.

Please don't call me 'honey'.... it's condescending and I'm old enough to be your mother.... thanks ;)

If you notice... I did compliment you on your plant's stem... it looks very healty (perhaps your egg shells).... and I'm sure on your next grow if you make an adjustment to the lighting situation you will have a kick ass harvest :D

I love the LOLCatz.... I get em from all over the net. Long live Ceiling Cat

My mom is 43. Ceiling cat and basement cat are indeed awesome. I called you honey to be nice, really.. (comes from weird bi and lesbo friends)
and the lighting situation will be rectified on my next attempt at growing probably. I'll be quite proud to show off pics of what I can REALLY do when I'm actually freakin' TRYING next time around. All the crap people handed out through this thread never brought me down once, just wanted to make me try again and harder, which was the point I'm sure. Except the 'chick is a dude' crap.. made me giggle.

No, not warts.. just dry skin from lack of lotion. I never use lotion, and my hands end up drying and cracking slightly if I dont moisturize them. :hump: I also have a mild-cold.

Good luck with your girl.... she really does have a nice stem.... I'm gonna keep those egg shells in mind on my next grow. My current grow is suffering a bit of root rot.... all my fault.... live and learn :peace:

Well that was a wee bit too much info.
You may want to try baby oil though, it's really good for the skin and the slippery motion lasts longer. :-o

lol, you and my mother friends? don't make me giggle lady, my mom is sooo 100% against weed that I've kept the growing of that scraggly bastard in my room secret for about two months now. I took the advice of that one guy to heart and cut it down about half way. I'm not sure if it IS a girl though.. that's why I don't really care about it.. but being that I was so proud of it sprouting anyway, I kept it alive. But you seem really nice, and I look forward to mixing idea's and such during the next grow.

I do know, contrary to popular belief it seems, quite a bit about growing. I read constantly during the first two attempts which came out very nicely I might add. But at the end of the day, growing weed is just like growing anything else, care, love and attention will get it through just fine. The only thing I wish was more clear is the whole seed preference thing. For instance, (and I'm sorry this is so long, I'm curious as to whether you have any idea about it.) I've heard that seeds with black or brown spots or stripes are the ideal for planting, but why is that? Is there a better chance those seeds are female? hmm..

Not at all Weezer! The convictions of the 60's are hardly lost amongst today's youth. I believe sex, like weed should be free and spoken about easily, talk of both is very welcome.
