growing older seeds

Wet a rapid rooter and drain out excess moisture. Place Rapid rooters directly in soil with the seed in it . Then take a clear plastic cup and cut a few holes in it and put it over the top of the rapid rooter and your done. I have had 100% success and never handle the taproot. There is no need for toilet paper, paper towel soaking in baby piss or even subscribing to cable just so you can stick them on top of your cable box. Gl
For my regular {not old and in the way} seeds, I place them pointy end down in a good potting soil. Haven't used paper towels in years.

Hey gang, I am as stumped as what I did to my poor little girl. I fear I have made a major mistake while trying to fix a stretching problem and am in dispirit need for advice.

So here it is, the pics show what I did, and why I did it is because she was soo stretched there was no way to keep her standing. As you may recall she was planted on June 2, and by June 14 could not stand up at all.

I transplanted her, on June 14, barring more of the weaker stem in the soil, and changed the light source to a MH and have it on 24/7 but even after 24 hours she was still extremely weak and the top two leaves were starting to die and look shriveled-up . I ended up pinching off those two top leaves on June 15 leaving it looking like this. (which just doesn't look right to me)

Now 9 days later the stem is definitely getting stronger, and able to support itself and is still getting taller(very slow but is growing). I have high hopes that I will get more branches will pop out and I am just being impatient again but if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Mainly, was it wrong to pinch off those top set of leaves?

popping and standing are 2 different things, when ya lay the seed on top of the medium, it pops, then the tail (tap root) buries itself and then the baby stands up. Like I said tis awesome to watch, nature at its finest. Not all of em can do it, I cull 4 or 5 every time I put seeds down. So yes the paper towel method allows weak genetics to get mixed into grows
So you just lay the seed on the peat; not buring it at all?
You use a peat "puck" or loose peat?
I hope this thread isn't too old. I'm still reading it.
