growing in my roof advice please

Friends,

I'm starting a grow room in my roof. i have a small space 3mtres in length by about 4 mtres witdth. the height is up to 7 ft in a triangle shape up to the apex of the roof.

I was thinking of putting black plastic as the walls to keep any light in the small area. Is this ok ?

The light i was thinking a 250w or 400w. Just worried that the 400w might be to hot. Any ideas.

Please keep in mind that i live in Ireland so it's cold in the roof nearly all year round.

anyones help would be greatly appriciated.

What do you mean by roof? Do you mean in an attic?

Okay I was worried until I read you were in Ireland. I'm sure if your lights are not too close to the plastic, you should have no worries. Cardboard is pliable and easy to work with and might be a cheap alternative as well.

Do you think the 250w light would be enough ? 400w light

i wouldnt worry about the heat off a 400w especially in such a big space, id worry more about the cool temps in the winter man! you don't want your house to be the only one without snow on the roof! but again shouldnt be a prob aslong as your roof is insulated.

have you purchased lights yet? I think you will be fine with a 400w and your results will be better as well. I would suggest a fan anyways to keep the air moving and make the plants strong and virile.

and if i had that much room up there i would get a 600 for veg and a 1000 for flowering but thats just me ........ i would use cool tube for the lights too...

but lets see some pics of were you are going to build ......

wont be that hot with a 400 watt, especially if your hanging it on rollers, it wont be near the plastic majority of the time. if i were you id think about getting a 600 instead and if your doing the alterations to the attic think about venting straight out the chimney flue! after all that's where heats supposed to go!!

Not a bad idea, but that's over the other side of the house. I recon i should be ok, just a little nervous... don't want the bloody house burning down.

i have a 400 watt sun suply 2 hps and it puts off jack shit for heat. the light is awsome...im now using a heater just to ramp up the temp. i assumed it was gonna throw way more heat, like a metal halide lamp....hps is the best light for all stages and it gives you wrist fat stems in the right soil with the right nutes. i could stake vampires with my branches and stem

understandable hahaha as with most things and especially dope once its et up and youve had a couple of crops under your belt youll look back and think why was i worried!

Got them from Sensi seed bank. Ordered 10x big bud seeds. It's a Sativa and Skunk hybrid.. I'm told very easy to grow with a massive yeild..

That will do me fine.
