Growing in Buckets

Any advice on growing outside in 5 gal. buckets.

They grow well but make sure you can access them often because they can dry on you very quick. You must frequently water them. But they have lots of advantages as being able to be moved, good medium and etc.

It depends on if there is a God, what strain, the temp in your area, amount of sunlight, water retention in the soil, nutes, moisture level, drainage & humidity. Other than than, Hell Yeah. If you do not meet the above critique, your Fucked.

Drill lots of holes in the bottom for drainage...the last thing you want is water pooling at the bottom of the bucket.

how would i lift the bucket off the ground a little, a few pieces of wood, would that work? because if it rains the ground gets wet and seals itself, and there is water in the bucket pooloing up, it cant drain out at all because it is sitting on a "sealed" surface.

since I live on the Big Island now I use "grow bags" exclusively! This is because the land in Puna is 100% covered in lava. Sure there is ground cover, but nothing is deeper than 2 inches of ground cover. So "grow bags" allow me to grow big girls during long season if I want too. Plus it allows one to stay two steps ahead of the "ripoffs"!!!
