Well go find your spot you want to grow in.. make sure its well out the way.. but if you know about it so will other people.. just get the spot ready for when you go out side it will save you so much time.. the mistake i made last year was i didnt prepear my spot untill i wanted to plant out side, which to say the least i found a bit tricky :peace:

if your growing in a place thats you feel save enough in, a great way to prep the garden is to bust up a hay bail or 2 in the garden and put a ton of worms in it. the worms love the hay and youll have a ton of worm castings in just a month or 2. and the hay that doesnt break down help to hold in the water of the dirt.

also it may come up later that growing outside you have animals eat your plants. if you have a dog you can take the dog hair out to the garden and spread it out. it keeps deers, hogs and things like that away.

i don't feed mine until they are well established. depending on the soil i use this can be as far along as 12" of growth. seedlings don't really need a lot of nutes. i start my seeds indoors. i let them get 12" then i put them outside. some leaves get a little damage because i choose not to ease them into the sun. i may lose 2 - 4 lower fan leaves the first week. once the plants settle in they will start to show healthy new growth THEN i start feeding them at 1/2 strength. slowly working up to full strength over the next couple of weeks.

Its not the soil thats killing the plants its your lights.A great starter soil is Miracle grow moisture control. Its a time release soil with water storage crystal that obsorb excess water and burst when the soil gets to dry so it helps stop overwatering and underwatering.Get a 4 foot shop light the kind with 2 florescent tubes.Germintae your seeds in a wet paper towel in a cd case in a drawer for 2-3 days til tap root comes out put about 1/4 inch into soil root down lightly cover with soil and get the light right on top of the pot. This light will cost 8-10 bucks at wal mart.Keep the light no more then 1/2 inch from top of plants till ready to go outside at 8-12 inches

I have a friend who swears by catching perch and burying it in the bottom of his pots outdoors.

If this was possible I'm sure we'd all be doing it. You can use a form of acid to change it from female to male. I've never heard the other way around.

I'm going to get chastized for that.....not actually change the plant from female to male....but have portions of the plant show male characteristics.
