bet. i figured sumn like that would occur n da ol head said i can make more plants from da "balls" not make it a female. i was zooted when he said it. but my real ? 2day is what brand hps light should i get and why doesnt fughin walmart have it?! i went 3 times 2day n found every flood n halogen they had to offer but not a single hps. i wanna make sure i got dis down b4 i make my major investments in lights. i went to homedepot but aint c em, i know i was super hie then. good look

The best value for a light I found was at Hi-Tech Garden Supply. Look for the $120 deal. The only thing that home depot has I think is that outdoor 400 watt hps. It's junk, for less money I can get a light with the extra blue spectrum and a reflector. Depends on how much you want to spend though, you could get one with a better reflector for around $200-$250. It only took about 5 days to get my light. The hydro shop nearby wants around $300. Your best bet is buy online, my advice is from that site. What you running for veg? cfls?

I tell you though, when it comes to buying stuff you always regret not getting the best stuff. Like my situation, I bought the good light with the cheap reflector. I could have got the ballast and light for $60 bucks, and put the rest of my money towards a reflector with an exhaust. HPS lights put out some heat, so I'm definately going to buy the reflector with the 6 inch flange on it. Then i'm going to get that inline 250 cfm 6 inch exhaust fan and venting material from the depot. That should cost me around 40-50 bucks. I'm figuring on spending another 200 or so on the reflector and fan material just cause the amount of heat that it produces. Good luck.

If your growing in a closet a 250 might be a little much

It's not one of those hydro fans. It's at home depot. I was figuring putting it on a timer. Unless I could find a lower cfm inline fan that's 6 inches.

why does it have to be 6",,because your getting a air cooled hood?..If so you can still go with a 6" and get a reducer at your local harware store... 5 or 6 bucks
6" is industrial..for big time growing.. go for 4" in a small area..save you wads of money

man dem lights hittin me ova da head. i cant do that right now. kids mothers day, the usual. but now i know. my real reason 4 bein here 2nite is 2 get some input on a super closet grow. 4 tier super. the proposed space is 94h"x76w"x28d" ima put shelves in that stick out a ft1/2 or so. then lining the closet wit mirror panels. not sure if i wanna do soil or dro as my bro is doin dro later. lightn will be cfls on trackn then later upgrade to several hps wit proper accessories....

...but wait theres more...readin this emaculate site i came across an idea i had recently. can i grow wit koolaid?hmmm. i started a seedling and in the process found another i had started n forgot. sideeffect. then the cfl n my head went on. can u grow 2 wit koolaid? best case: 2 females groin as1 wit buds that not only are a funky color but have a pleasent taste. input plz. n this iz personal. not concerned wit color other than wanna get sumn other than grn n fughin purple! choc thai iz king...

my understaning is that mirrors arent good for grow rooms..it intensifies light to much. This reflection of intensified light make's climate control impossible. AM i wrong? can some correct me here?

If you want you can go cheap and get that reflective wrapping paper. It's a silver color and real shiny, you can get a roll for a couple of bucks. Just a matter of finding it.

my people ...what it is? i began my experiment n prep for my 4 tier op. 2 seedlings 1 6"pot, some sun and 1 pack of kool aid split, half in the middle of da pot other half on top soil. and thus far have been thriving pretty well i have pics but no personal computer access. only cam/phone. the taller one is 3" the smaller one has the bigger node doe. real green, the taller has a lil armstrongitis. soon as i can ill put pics up. til then burn one . out
