groClone Clone Machine

I just purchased a groClone clone machine (thru Hydroponics gardening equipment hydroponics systems, grow lights and hydroponic nutrients at 4 Hydroponics.com by Growco Indoor Gardening Supply in Grand Rapids, Michigan). I am expecting it to arrive either tomorrow, or Monday afternoon sometime.

I have been looking for solid, easy to use clone propagation, and really wnat to have the goods so I can keep my Master Kush going for a while.. and any other strain I grow.

I looked over the website, and I am impressed: https://www.groclone.com/dkeImagesD.aspx?pageInc=0 (click on "more images")

Frequently Asked Questions The FAQ & pics sold me... I was going to go get an American Agritech Clone Machine 20 (TCS-Hydroponics - Complete Systems - American Agritech), but the guys at 4hydroponics have taken good care of me thus far (and free shipping on orders +$250).

Does anyone have any experience with either of those cloners? Tips and/or advice is totally welcome.

Yes...and I have a feeling you will be pleased with your purchase.

I used a CloneMachine20 for about 7-8 years there with excellent results. 20 for 20 damn near everytime. I outgrew it and needed more clone sites, so made a larger unit and used that for awhile...then switched to the *dip n' stick* method about 5 years ago and have been doing that every since.

A very good friend of mine has the GroClone and he swears by it. Seems to put a lot of bubbles in the solution...and those stick to the stem and help the roots form and pop out all over the place.

Water should be 5.8ish....temps 70-80. You should just plain rock with this unit...

good luck

I took clones last night before I transferred my Master Kush ladies to the Bloom room. I hope I root 14/14.

I followed the steps outlined in "Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Growers Bible" by Jorge Cervantes.

The plants the clones came from were cut from a mother grown from seed (C1 ?), and vegg'd for 27 days...

The branch that broke off has taken off with some serious roots since I placed it under the fluorescent I got at Home Depot. I am planning on using that as my Master Kush mother.

i am stoned and figuered I'd bump another oldie ha ha

i used the groclone 3 times before i moved locations. when i got to the new place, a friend of mine gave me his ezclone 60 site unit - how stoked was i, right? i set both of them up, filled with cuts of the nirvana papaya & flying dutchmens pog i popped and waited for roots. i was gonna do a "cloner shootout". well i had a in issue with an arm (mine) accidently catching the groclone as I swung arouns and knock all the cuts in the cloner over they bent so bad they snapped. the plants in the ezclone were okay but the groclone crop was dead. so i just emptied it out put it on a shelf and have been using the ezclone since.
its great. i am able to get roots in 7-14 days and have them tranfered into coco in 10-17. until the pump breaks and your roots hanging in the air shrivel up and die because they are not getting any moisture. total bummer.

so i broke out the groclone (thank good ness I have it I cannot clone in cubes/rapid rooters to save my life) and loaded it up with 25 cuts sour dub + 2 cuts of las vegas purple kush + 1 banana kush. hopefully this hings works as much as I remember it did for me those 3 times! we'll see.... keep you al updated.
pics tomorrow...

Hi Rollitup,

Hey I've got one of the clone machines but was wondering:

1. Should the pump be set on a timer? Do they need an off time?

2. Should I use cloning gel?

3. How about using the Clone X solution? I've got a gallon or so of it.

Thanks for any help you can give!

no timer needed with the air pump.... run it 24/7

2. Should I use cloning gel?
you'll get roots whether you do or don't but a few days faster with a rotting gel. i like clonex....

i haven;t ever used the solution so i cannot give you any experience poitners sorry

those are like the ezclone... areoponics.
as long as you can keep the water in the rez at 75f (78f, tops) you should be cool running it 24/7.
if the rez heats up over 80f then you'll want to have it on 15on/15off cycles imo

Cool, the room gets a little hot so I may have to do that. Thanks for the help, and I'm sorry if I stole your thread...

nah no stolen thread!

I wanted to update everyone that, as of right now, I am referring to the groclone as the SLOCLONE.
Of the 28 cuts I took 4/29, only 2 have rooted. I am not very happy right now : (
maybe its my environment, but in the same environment my when I use the ez, I am done in 7-10 days...
I am gonna be getting a new pump for my ez monday, and maybe even a 1/10 horsepower water chiller... that way i'll be able to clone crazy no matter the heat outside....

Cool, keep me updated! My clone machine is taking a while to root as well... may have to try out an ez clone!

That water chiller might be a little overpowered for a cloner... but that should make optimal conditions... Let me know how it works!

where did you see a 1/15 Hp chiller?
the couple shops around my way are stocking the 1/10.. that fucker is $300.
i'll tell you what though $300 to ensure healthy cuts ready for transplant in 7-10 no matter what time of year it is or where i am doing my business seems like good insurance... of course if i can get ti done for less than $300 I would love too....

i mean i dont really need it my clones still root, i just want to make sure.

having said that...i dont think you will need a 1/10 as your res isnt that big (i dont think, correct me if im wrong) on the groclone

google the coolworks iceprobe and also google Pacific Coast CL-85 and the CL-150 chiller
