That’s not necessarily true you can have a new strain that has been stabilized properly bred where the offspring are consistent. I know very little about breeding but to me it is common sense when you take mother a and father b and the offspring equals C. If both the mother and father have been stabilized when put together they should produce beans that are very very similar. The problem with Greenpoint and many companies is they take father a and mother b Whereas the father is already a poly hybrid that was found in a lottery of seeds and same for the mother so when you put them together you now have a lottery of seeds where maybe 1 to 3 out of 100 will produce what they are actually advertising. I feel like if the breeder really wanted to produce predictable beans then they would stabilize whatever prize plant they have, reverse it to itself and then test the offspring to make sure that the S1 are consistent and if not continue on the generation of the plant you wish to reproduce until the S1 seeds are consistent or figure out what parents when put together produce the plant you are advertising

Greenpoints s1garbage doesn’t even carry most of the traits over properly..and it’s probably from being rushed I bet

When I first started growing from seed, greenpoint was one of the first people I used. At first I thought I was the problem and was doing something wrong because several of the strains I ran literally had no smell to them. I really questioned my ability and setup until I ran a clone of Divine Gelato with the same setup and routine. That Gelato could be smelled from outside if I were to open the grow room door.. companies like greenpoint give good seed breeders a bad rapgenetics that have been worked long enough to get the hermaphroditism out of its gene pool

Lemon frosting turned all purple in just 3 weeks time, and finally harvested it. Plus Ice Cream Punch finished off decently. Taste nothing likes its name though, more like citrus & pepper.

What greenpoint crosses you run? The old stardawg crosses had real nice phenos. Both cookies n chem and bodega bubblegum I ran had nice plants with plenty of smell/terps.
But I got those packs during the reverse auction days. Never ran any of the stuff bred post 2017.

Damn there’s a lot of haters against Green Point. Reminds me of TGA days and Sub saying if you ain’t got haters you aren’t very big. Sub always had to deal with this shit too and the haters sound like a bunch of babies.
End of the day the consumer has a choice to select the breeder they want. Stop crying when it doesn’t work out for you. Grow better or just get a clone only of something you know is good.
If you grow enough from seed your going to find early hermies, nanners, runts, and some not great phenos. I don’t care what breeder you pick.
The reason a guy like me loves to grow from seed is the chase to finding that new unique flavor profile and traits I desire. It’s why I don’t mind poly x poly. I don’t want the same watered down genetics as everyone else.
Don’t get me wrong I love my clones only strains and always have a couple going on in my garden but even then I’m still searching through beans.
@Gu~ is doing work bringing big name strains to the masses. You might not like what he’s doing…and that’s good for you, but a guy like me is happy he is doing what he is.
He was one of the biggest seed collectors I’ve ever seen back in the day. His seed library was unreal. I’m glad that he’s sharing his genetics.
And at a very reasonable prices. Every strain right now is 50% off on his site with Black Friday and he discounts frequently.
I haven’t even grown any of his genetics (yet, just made my first order) but I’ve been in this game a long time and a lot of the seed banks are shady and unreliable on top of ripping people off not even having them in breeder packs and price gouging.
Beans are meant to be shared and grown out by the masses, not hoarded and cost tons of money.
All these haters will be silenced when I get my beans and grow them out like they’re supposed to be.

It’s mainly noobs who grow Greenpoint. If you’re choosing Greenpoint as a breeder you’re LOST and need to do your research or get out more lol

Say one does “research”, what is noob about greenpoint? No offense to you, but I mean he has a great clone onlylibrary and a star dawg male that has put out some fire. Is it the stardawg you have issues with or the fems he is now doing? Seems like ordinary stuff to me, especially seeing how other breeders you named have done the same type of thing.

They rush out REVERSED seeds. That’s a big issue especially with carrying on traits. You can reverse a plant that doesn’t carry on the most important traits. Low quality hermies. Just Google them and read all of the reviews or do side by side grows and see first hand.
People who grow Greenpoint haven’t grown anything I’ve listed!

I have. Rarely disappointed with any of the stardawg regs. Probably the same % of good to not so good with Bodhi runs, for example.

I don’t have to do more research. It’s not difficult. I’ve known @Gu~ since seed collector days from many years ago. I know exactly what I’m saying.
If you want a F5 stabilized strain that’s great. You do that. I don’t want a strain that everyone else can get the exact same pheno every seed.
The poly x poly is great for someone who chases new combinations of terps and flavors. Yes it’s not a bunch of uniform plants and at times have to cull a few hermies, but how many of these new hyped clone only strains are coming from stabilized strains????
Oh ya, none, as most the new hyped strains are coming from poly hybrids bc it keeps the gene pool diverse and allows for new phenos nobody has had before. You do know how and where Chem lines came about right? From a selfed bag seed and it shows late nanners during flower. Trainwreck shows late flower nanners too. By your logic these were weak and should of been culled, but here they are, the basis of many of the strains we know and love today.
Tons of sativas show these traits too. It’s a genetic of the plant inbred for many years in the wild before any of us were even growing. The trait is ingrained in the genetics for survival and is part of growing if you grow from seed in large numbers.
