Ive searched around the forum looking for information on marijuana grafting and found nothing. I dont know if its possible or has been done, im just very curious if any experiments have been done with grafting and marijuana with different plants etc... if anyone has any info or ideas lets share!:bigjoint:

1 plant with branches of different strains is the best you could pull off.... but grafting is a rather slow process not suited for a short life plant such as cannabis... just not practical or useful

but what if you graft some great indica on a sativa? veg it and let it flower outdoors, you will get a tall ass plant that has some great genetics. maybe it would work or you could just grow a bunch of strains and then you will not have to worry about grafting

or 2 root stocks to one plant,,,
ya do it the same way as a tomato,,,,,,

i think the plants need to be the same age for it to work.

even if you did, you'd be growing that indica. chances of improved growth are minimal, and genetics of the scion do not change.

i tried a (sloppy) graft last fall, it failed. i want to try again in the spring though. :p

well hops is the closest thing to canabis and i remember reading this thing where these guys grafted a hops top to a weed stem thinking that the leaves would have thc therefor creating a weed plant you could grow anywhere and not be detected, however the weed part stayed weed and the hops stayed hops so there is not much incentive to graft wed plants

The DNA doesn't mix. The main plant will still be an indica and the graft will still be a sativa (if thats was the graft)

When doing fruit tress, no one has gotten both fruits on the same branch.

i know the dna doesnt cross,im say a sativa as the host bc sativas tend to grow fast and there wounds heal fast,so thus said a sativa by theory should heal and accept the host system at a quicker rate then another.

I wonder what plants you could graft marijuana with, Id love to just make some grafts with marijuana on the top of my oak tree and just let em grow all summer. it get a lot of light that way and no one would ever know!

you think you're the first person to have this idea?? if it was possible, i would have my yard lined with pine/pot trees:lol:.... still a fun hypothetical situation though

it might be possible though, take a botony class and learn,i might take one for the hell of it. but theretically it is possible to do,you need the graft site to be fresh and still have a soft stem before it hardens.it may take a few years to master,so i do think it is possible to do,but none the less impractical, the mj plant and the host tree would have to be in a warm climate or else the graft would die at the end of the season.

wondering the same but under different stipulations can you graft a hybrid stem with a straight non hybrid sativa or indica with the result of a stronger hitting weed producing couch lock effects?????
also a new grower so any critiscism or potential thoughts are welcome

There was s a practical purpose to grafting cannabis. Plant count. One mother plant/root stock that has multiple strains grafted to it. Clones of different strains from one plant. It can and has been done.
