you heard me right.

the republicans' counter offer to the fiscal cliff is to raise taxes on middle class families by about $1,000 a year by letting the payroll tax cut expire.

yeah, that ought to stimulate the economy.

what the fuck are wrong with you retarded republicans? how retarded are you guys?

They are appealing to the morons who have nothing but the "promise" that they too can make it big. Idiots that voted for Mutt. Nothing like an Alaska beater with a bumper sticker for Romney.

i mean, they have people deriding teachers for earning too much money. they have people deriding union workers for earning too much money. these things will come right back around to fuck them in the ass as these are the things that keep their wages higher too. they are effectively rooting for their own labor to be undervalued and looked down upon as well. they are actively rooting for themselves and their families to be seen as "the underclass".

they defend the unscrupulous CEO who takes advantage of a ridiculous tax deduction as a smart "job creator" (which is funny, because hiring is a thing of last resort), but if a hard working person who makes minimum wage applies for food stamps or qualifies for the EIC, that person is a moocher.

they want it harder to access birth control or abortion, then they deride that hard worker for taking food stamps to feed his kid because he should have thought ahead before having a kid he couldn't afford. meanwhile, they ignore that their hatred of things that breed job security makes it easier for their boss to fire them for no reason (or underpay or pay discriminate). they complain about "onerous and burdensome" regulations that could have prevented things like the value of their house or their 401k being cut in half.

how many of these people who complain of "onerous and burdensome" regulations boil their own water or test their own food for botulism?

hypocrite, double standard holding, often bible thumping morons who vote against their own self interest and then preach ayn rand to you all day long.

,..............................................................

here is the deal , we are going over the cliff. GOP is waiting for the taxes to go up so they can say they did a tax cut.

Hmm isn't that part of the auto cuts yep I think it is. Seriously guys what did you expect when Obama got reelected? When is it going to sink in you won the battle but lost the war?

so it's all obama's fault and not the fault that he's simply a democrat?? the two party system doing what it does best imo, nothing but fuck us over..

That was a counter offer to a proposal that was voted down 99-0 in the Senate. Not one single democrat vote yet He resubmits the offer like it's real and then blames the republicans. You think any of those 1.6Trillion in tax increases will be bore by the middle class/ poor? If I had to guess, I'd say no, liberals couldn't be honest about Him if they had to.

Neither side seems serious but focus only on the stupidity from one side. That's how we get things done here. Point at the other side and accuse them of the same stupidity your side is doing.

Uncle Buck, don't know about you, but I'll be pleased if I'm only raped out of 1000 bucks in taxes. More likely it will be 3 or 4 times that. 1.6 trillion in added revenue........

You are correct, Dems should have surrendered to the fact that Republicans are perfectly capable of holding the country hostage and are perfectly willing to destroy the economy if they don't get their way. We should have elected Romney knowing that at least then, Republicans could have an easier time passing legislation that would effectively do the same thing, bring us into another recession with austerity measures that haven't worked anywhere else and sacraficing the middle class on the altar of tax breaks for the rich.

The AMT alone will present many with not only a tax bill but a big one too. Those making around $70K can expect a $3K tax increase. The same type of bastards that wrote that law are now wailing about any tax increase on the rich but they sit mum waiting for yours to go up.

I am one who will get killed in either direction, if they come for my capital gains, I am screwed. If they come for the payroll tax reductions, I am screwed, if they come for the morgage deduction I am screwed.

Now, what is the point? My point is that no matter what happens, the rich will NOT be screwed. Why should I take hits from every direction when they take them from none? In any situation my standard of living goes down, I will have to think twice about my common purchases - I will have to count pennies, eat less extravagant lunches, consider sending my daughter less money when she needs some help, my wife will worry even though we are fairly secure.

Now, explain how that one percent will suffer from a tax increase. Will they be forced to consider a 56 foot second yacht rather than the 62 foot one they were looking at? Will they stay up all night concerned that they may not be able to make the morgage on their home in the bahamas?

Now never mind me, how about the folks for whom that 1000 dollars represents their blood pressure medication or their cholesteral drugs? Are they going to have to make a choice between their third meal every day, every other day? and their ongoing and future health?

What is happening is what always happens - Republicans don't give a shit for those people, they never have, they never will - the question in future elections will be if they are able to pretend with enough vigor that they do. Oh, I forgot, the benevolent right wishes that these folks would contribute, they really want to help them.... pull themselves up by their own bootstraps - the elderly, the sick, the ones who need that thousand dollars, who can't make it up by selling a few bags of bud to their friends, the ones like my friend who is on the cusp of 65 and is pissing blood and is frightened because he fears he may have to make a choice between his home and his kidney. This is what Republicans are so willing to do to us and yet, for some reason I am unable to fathom - this same friend proudly voted for Romney.

I can sum it up in one sentence.
I got mine, FUCK YOU.

I just now read where U.S. corporations have recorded record profit - now there is nothing new in this of late but along with this news was news that worker salary has also recorded a record this quarter - it is at record lows. "I got mine, fuck you" is a description of this situation as well, the only problem is that the condition cannot last long - eventually, the middle class's inability to purchase goods will cut into corporate profit. Next corporations will see a global marketplace as their salvation - only... they are riding on low pay internationaly as well. They will not be able to sell many iphones to the chinese who are working for 80 cents an hour and living in company dorm rooms.

this is the result of a "free Market" - any truely free market will eventually kill the goose that brought them all those shiny eggs. Conservatives simply cannot understand anything that has consequences.

Solid rant.

If he's 65 he's forced on medicare even if he's a trillionaire. Both his home and kidney should be safe.

You completely ignored the fact that Obama's plan raises tax on the middle and lower classes exponentially higher than a 1000 bucks. You completely vilify the right for this grand and rightfully so, how come you are cool with many times that?

I hate the right for wanting to raise taxes on the middle class by 1000 a year but I love Obama for wanting to raise them much more. Another case of a "I hate the right so much that I'll give a pass to my party who is actually doing even more of what I'm bitching about the right doing" liberal defective mind.

The guy? I said Cusp of - in other words he is not yet 65 and has no cover. Obama's plan is to keep things as they are for the middle class - as he defines middle class - those making under 250k. He wants to keep the payroll tax break, he wants to keep Bush's tax break, he would like to keep medicare as it is but is willing to offer some cuts. The right is demonstrating that they are willing to harm the middle class (as they always are) just so they can keep their rich pals from having to pay any more. Now where is this "more" you are talkikng about?

It matters not who gets stuck with the tax increases, the middle class and the lower class will be the ones paying for it in either case. When they tax me a bunch, I just raise prices on my product to make up the difference.

If you are a farmer. You do not have any say what your prices are. Again you are full of shit

Obama proposed revenue increases of 1.6T in his budget that nobody voted for but was still his proposal. Are you willing to go on record that the middle class will not see taxes raised in this budget?
