West Nile is pretty much endemic throughout America anymore. It's been in Colorado for over a decade.
The local news still uses it as a way to remind folks to deet up. I assume I've had it. If not, it's not for a lack of them trying. It seems every skitter in my area feeds on my ankles and face each dusk and dawn.

So there were tornadoes in the area associated with the big storms a few days ago. Houses and outbuildings damaged, no homes destroyed.

I don't even want to think about being in Florida. I get chewed up bad enough by mosquitos as it is, and I'm pretty sure you guys have them much worse.

Mosquitos haven't really been bad here this year in Texas. We usually are getting chewed up this time of year. There are allot of dragon flies on the prowl though.

At least where I was (in town, a mile from the beach) the mosquitoes weren't bad. My theory is that because it never gets cold enough to kill predators, they keep the population down compared to places like Colorado where there's only the winter check on the population.

Temps in the mid 90's today, but at least the humidity and dew points are low for a change. I may go check on my plants in the woods tomorrow morning, I haven't seen them for a few days since we finally got rain.
