They both finished fine but wasn't up to par with other plants in the tent. Leafy airy buds and not much potency wise.
That’s why I was a little surprised to see the hoopla, this is the same reason when he was giving seeds away for free 10 yrs ago, we grew em, but nobody was keeping any around for moms etc. great guy, put in a lot of work, but at end of day, still mediocre meds.

Yeah man the goo I smoked back in 2004ish was straight fire. This pure gooey didn't even come close. Super disappointed in it honestly.

Yep, heavy Goo action on the Ridge in Nevada County back in the day...from what I've heard it suffered from its own success - flooded the market then the next year no one grew it, then the year after that no one anywhere knows where the cut went :D

I do know that a recently deceased Mendo old timer told me (back in like 2017) that he scored Goo cuts from his time in Nevada County back in like the 90's. Some of those made their way to some fun corners of Mendo and ended up working themselves into the JahGoo lines... and others.

I did see plants from my one buddy in Nevada County who claimed that he and his brother were the only ones to keep cuts of that original Goo from 00's and they had very similar morphology to those that Mr. Mendo Old Timer showed me a few years later. Big wide honking fan leaves, trichomes pushing out 4" - 5" from the colas. Potential to be absolutely huge plants with 10+ lb yields.

I know someone who has the original Green Ribbon cut waiting to be resurrected....I'll keep ya posted. :D
Cool to hear about the jahgoo, people are probably still growing that out near the round valley

Yeah my father biker friend gave me a ziplock of NCG x space queen. So I took em and I ask what NCG. His reply was Nevada city goo. I’ve made a few batches of bean since the. From that old stock and BX a afgoo overdrive in the line keep em bushier and I too just 1 or 2 time that it and it like a perfect 5’bush just as wide as tall but I now got come NCG x king’s banner and I about to do a breed project with the old stick and new. Make some F1s and gift em to all my friends to test. I’m from a try my best to keep them green. Nothing like dank GREEN cannabis

I'm curious about that Shock and Quiver. How'd she grow, taste and was the effect good enough to find a keeper or two?

I'm looking for male suitors to pollinate my keeper Vintners Moonshine and Shock and Quiver shares Zinn and Dark Cross in it's makeup with Vintner's.

Tell me about your keeper vintners moonshine if you can. I made a bunch of F2s from a partial pack, and the 3 phenos we’re currently testing are all notably different - with citrus, grape, and wintergreen scents. I’m curious what else is buried in the genes. The mom I used had a grape and cognac smell to it.

It has an undertone of grape, not real fruity sweet, maybe like a dry red wine grape and some kind of whiskey in the background. Not getting citrus from this one. Pretty slow vegger indoor, but solid structure. Clones okay.

Originally flowered two separate plants from seed indoor and by chance kept a clone going of the smaller one. I usually have too many projects and not enough space, so sometimes I break my own rule of keeping a clone of everything until it proves it's worthy or unworthy. Didn't keep a clone of the sister plant which had similar smell and structure but grew a little faster, just an error on my part I didn't keep that one too.

The one I have doesn't really get purple much indoors, but outside the bud goes purple. Flowered it outside a few seasons back to see what she'd do and that's where she shines. Veg growth is notably better outdoor than indoor, resists botrytis better than most (Maine) and the outdoor smoke does a good job according to people who've partaken. Finishes Sept 30 / Oct 7th range.

After the initial trial in a 5 gallon bucket, it got promoted to larger containers the last few years as an "outdoor keeper". Tried once to get some clones to produce male pollen, got male flowers, very little pollen though. Haven't given up on producing fem seeds, just backburnered that for now. I have pollinated the Vintners with a handful of different males and have some seeds to search thru to maybe work back that way too. Got a handful of regular 50% Vintner's (female) / 50% Moose n Lobsta (male) seedlings going now. Goal is a reliable potent early October mold resistant line.

Did some chucking and got to a 75% Vintner's / 25% Star Pupil / Iranian for the earlier finish, but decided not to pursue that and begin again with different males.

That sounds really cool dude, and you’ve got some neat projects in the works too ! Your keeper sounds similar to the mom I had used - a bit slow to veg, and a bit difficult to train - but that whiskey/wine barrel/cognac smell is really pretty unique to the strain, and I haven’t smelled anything else like it. I had a powerful grape big leave chew smell to it that overwhelmed everything next to it. The buds were also soft, almost like a velvet texture before fully dried. While they’re cool, I’m hoping to look through this seed pile to find a pheno that’s close to the mother. I didn’t keep it at the time because “I’ll have backup seeds” :-( and I’m regretting it now.

After the All the different varieties we had last 20 years I still have a soft spot for that ooey gooey. As I get into my 40s and I been a stone mason since my teens my body is banged up so I need that kush or some fire GMO or GG4. I was trying to find a male worthy to seed my keeper GMO and I found a male GG4 that was just a stud had the smell the structure and his flowers were dense like buds. So I seeded the gmo and those F1s are amazing they toss u 3 pheno 1 gmo 1 gg4 and a perfect blend of the 2 that finishes flowering in early October outdoors. So u was looking for something to cross to the F1s and for d Nor cal goo x kings banner holy shit got 20 regular seeds for 70$ and man I popped 6 and 4 females all bangers was able to seed a NCG xKB with a male gmo x gg4 I made. Got 10 in 1-1/2 gallon pots to sex em and fingers crossed I find one worth to keep around
