riddleme, you have inspired my curiosity and i am too trying the bud topping technique. although maybe alittle late in doing so, i have an lst'd plant that i went ahead and topped half of its top buds. now she is about 5 weeks and im just starting this technique so i dont expect a whole lot, but a little bit more resin production would be sufficient for me. i hope to get pics on here in the next few days. till then

so im a noob you water every 3 days how often do you fert my fert says every 10-14 days should when should molases be introduced thank you nice grow loving the 4 colas

Thats a great thread on Myco, I had started it but not read it to completion because i'm a chem guy. As usual, Uncle Ben and crew came to a reasoned conclusion: Very little benefit for cannabis or any annual container plant for that matter. It takes up to 2 years to fully colonize after application. Zero to very little added activity in the first 3-4 months (the length of a grow cycle). If your not adding it to your soil outside the previous year or mixing up your dirt at least 6 months in advance you are seeing no real benefit.

8. How Are Mycorrizhae Applied To New Plants?

This is easy if you are planting a seed; just put a small amount of mycorrizhae powder in the hole in direct contact with the seed. Obviously, applying mycorrizhae to existing plants is a little more difficult. If a plant is being transplanted then sprinkle mycorrizhae in the soil before you put the plant in. With existing plants, add the mycorrizhae to the fertilizer and the mycorrizhae will soak into the soil. When this method is used it's reported 1 that root mycorrizhae has increased in one year from 0% to 30%; within two years it as gone up to 50% to 60%.

I want to pre-empt the oncoming posts about "My plants grow so much better" and "treated roots are everything" by saying that to have any validity you must have an untreated control group or at least have grown the strain in the same op multiple times to know if you are really seeing anything new. Ah, science.

P.S. Know what has a large amount of myco activity, is cheap, and organic growers love? Compost.

lol, i'm stirring shit up in the wrong thread.

Nice pix man.

Now that I have posted the answer and final summary in my NooB Advice thread we can get back to detailing the experiments in this grow

This morning Matilda will be getting a shower, gona make it rain on her, I think she is dusty and needs a bath :bigjoint:

I have not fed her the super tonic since that first time so will be givin her a dose with her next feeding to monitor the differences of what I'm watching

more updates this weekend

I took pics this morning but did not have time to post them so gonna post them now

I gotta tell ya this shower thing put her in hyperdrive, came home tonight from work and the top 2 inches of her soil is dry she wicked her little ass off, I'm guessing she likes showers (and yes it was straight cold tap water)

So gonna brew me a batch of super tonic for her and see how she likes it.

You will see that her buds fell over when I hit em with water, I left one laying down in the pic so you could see, I had shaken the rest so they stood up again

most would say this was bad, but a few things my humidity is 30 to 33% and I started after lights were on for bout a half hour so she had all day to dry under the lights, actually she is looking good now seems happy as hell :bigjoint:

I was thinkin she would be hungry Sat morning but could easily be tomorrow night?

PS for reference the shower drain is 3 inches and the pot is 10 inches

I made up a batch of super tonic last night and fed her this morning, the difference being I mixed in a bit of DynaGro but other than that mix was the same, I noticed several differences,,,,,

One tonight when I got home she had her first bit of smell, not serious just a minor smell kinda skunky the only thing different is the DynaGro so something in there makes her want to stink a bit

the other difference was that the brew did not bubble as much so thinkin something in the Dynagro counter acts the reaction, gonna not use Dynagro for next batch to see if I'm right

There was a minor growth spurt not as big as before But she is still lookin good and hairs are turnin red and brown, she is getting very pretty

Gonna keep doing the super tonic but may alternate in some more DynaGro as needed with future feedings, I am seeing 2 leaves showing a Mag def, but since it is only on 2 leafs not gonna worry about it, simply keep an eye on it to see if it spreads?

Anyway here are some pics from tonight, including a popcorn bud as well,,,,,,

So today is the first day of week 7 as everyone knows I am lovin the new camera so played with taking long shots and rotating them

even though I took pics yesterday thought I would add these as well

also including a pic of that one leaf that is showing signs of a problem, but since only the one leaf not overly worried about, still no sign on the others

Looks like she will get watered again tomorrow and though her hairs are turning orange/brown her trichs are still clear, still got a ways to go :bigjoint:
