http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2014/07/hobby-lobby-is-already-creating-new-religious-demands-on-obama/373853/

just days after the hobby lobby decision, religious groups now want the "religious freedom" to discriminate against and not hire gays.

what other laws should christians not have to follow at the expense of others rights?
Christians should be allowed to discriminate against gays if they want to. And all people should be allowed to boycott businesses that do so. A good system of checks and balances, without government intervention.

Would you like it if you were REQUIRED to shop at a store run by Nazi white supremists? Of course not. Then let Christian businesses cut their own throats by refusing to hire gays. And if their businesses profit anyway, then let it be.

Let's be honest here. Not everyone is ready to accept gay men in public wearing pink tights and holding hands and french-kissing. And don't blame some people if they're turned off by the fact that most gay men's sex escapades involve getting another man's shit on their penis AND tongue. Some people readily accept this, and some don't. We're a nation in transition.

But the more people try to shove gay acceptance down people's throat, the more backlash there will be.

Chill. Gay acceptance is coming. But a bit slower than you think.

i'm not seeing the analogy here.

no one is forcing anyone to shop anywhere. we're just saying that you shouldn't be able to kick people out of your store just because they are gay. kinda the same thing as what happened to blacks not too long ago. basic civil rights and all.

are you saying people should be allowed to not hire and even fire people just because they are gay?

sounds kid of like a bigoted asshole move to me.

...gay men's sex escapades involve getting another man's shit on their penis AND tongue.
sounds like you've thought quite a bit about gay male sexual relations.

i am not at all surprised.

Clearly this is an epidemic. Gays everywhere are being dragged into the streets after drinking from a hetero-only water fountain. They don't get loans. They can't go to good schools. I'm surprised we even let them vote! Yeah, totally the same thing.

I hate to break it to you, but being gay is not the problem with these shop owners. It's not like they administer a gay test when you walk through the door, give me a fucking break. It's all about acting appropriately in public and it doesn't matter what culture/sub culture/lifestyle you come from. There are gays all over this country that have no trouble what-so-ever. Why is that?

Riddle me this. If you are so supportive of gays, why are you constantly trying to insult people by insinuating that they are gay?

you'd be crying like a little bitch if your sexuality caused you to lose as many rights as gays lose.

where did you get all of that from?

i was just commenting on his vivid depiction of what he imagines male on male sexual relations to be like.

Yeah, I see it all the time, I know. Gays wearing a big "G" on their shirts being denied rights everywhere they go.

where did you get all of that from?

LOL, that was weak. Uh, maybe it's the insinuations across multiple threads that are targeted at people you don't like? Oh, and the "Why am I not surprised" line in this last one to be specific.

But go ahead and pretend that's how enlightened, open minded people make comments.

so are you mocking the fact that gays have less rights as humans because of who they like to fuck in the privacy of their own homes then?

because that's the type of thing that only a real piece of shit would mock.

i really am not surprised when someone goes on an anti-gay rant and includes a vivid description of what they imagine gay homosexual relations between two men to be like. it's hilariously predictable.

*sigh* That was a VERY poor attempt to twist my words so you can yet again throw some lame ass, round about insult around. I wasn't mocking gays, I was mocking your distorted version of reality. You come across as if you think gays are denied service everywhere they go, or can't get a job or keep one. You said it was kinda like what blacks went though. News flash.. it's nothing like what they went through. The only thing I can think of that gays are being denied revolves around marriage, which I'm sure we both agree is fucked up. Does that make it the end of the world? Hardly. It it worth changing? Of course.

Also, I see you are going to continue to cling to your "I wasn't calling him gay to insult him" statement. Pathetic. It's perfectly clear what your intentions were. This guy saying that not everyone is comfortable seeing guys in tights french kissing is an accurate observation, not an anti-gay rant. You just want to see it as a rant so you can justify insulting him. You are by far the most predictable one here.

I'll play your game just this once, and I don't even have to twist anything. You wanna know what sort of things a real piece of shit does on the internet? Cowardly trolls people using language they'd never consider using in face to face conversations. Mocks the deaths of people's family members (by far one of the lowest things I've ever seen on any internet forum). Commits libel while acting like they have the moral high ground. Mocks people who work a job they don't consider glamorous. Constantly insults people for having a different opinion or lifestyle while preaching tolerance and equal rights. These are but some the things a piece of shit does.

minus the preaching tolerance and equal rights, that describes exactly what all of my ideological opponents love to do.

want me to cite it, or would that just prove how one-sided you are while trying to act like you are not mocking the adversity and unequal rights your fellow americans face?

I don't see how denying homosexual individuals the right to purchase material goods leads to any kind of Christian empowerment. I'm usually not on the hate bandwagon, but this... Is hateful and unconstitutional, one of which more so directly goes against the true meaning of Christianity.

If I'm so uninformed, then tell me where all these gays are being so oppressed everywhere they go, 'kinda like how blacks were'. Fucking laughable. Like everyone else on this planet, I have gay relatives. Guess how often I hear them complain about how they didn't get served somewhere or lost their job because they were gay? How is it that they can have absolutely no problem? I've had openly gay co-workers. The only complaint I've ever heard concerned marriage and the rights associated therein because this state doesn't honor same sex marriage. With that, I can certainly sympathize. It's a very real issue. This made up BS of gays being so oppressed that they can't get services or jobs is hyperbole, and you know it.

That was your entire comment on the matter. Nope, no hint of a gay insult there at all. Clearly your shitty backpedaling story was what you meant. I bet at least one person here will believe it. Unfortunately, it's just you.

minus the preaching tolerance and equal rights, that describes exactly what all of my ideological opponents love to do.
And here's your 2nd favorite trick, deflection. So you don't deny it then?

want me to cite it, or would that just prove how one-sided you are while trying to act like you are not mocking the adversity and unequal rights your fellow americans face?
And look! Another of your favorite tricks. Did you forget I just went over this in my last post? Are you capable of having a linear discussion? Does anybody here besides yourself believe I was in fact mocking gays and not you?

And btw, citing other peoples horrible comments does not excuse your own, nor will you get me to defend anything I don't agree with that others have said. Your trap has failed. Boy, you sure pulled out all the stops for me on this one, didn't ya?

So im curious as to how the businesses know unless the individual decided to tell their employer for some reason. I know in my experience, no job has asked me whether or not i was gay. And i also know straight guys that act kind of flamboyant. Whether they're in denial or not is none of my business so unless these people are acting incredibly inappropriately, i feel the employer would have no means by to fire them.

if you are tolerant of homosexuals, you are not a Christian. just say it; the truth will set you free.

You're wrong about that. Christianity is mostly self-applied. Free will is not to be taken from anyone. I'm agnostic, but raised Christian for the record. We were taught to love and accept no matter the "sin" and to refrain from judging anyone. Those who do the opposite are not doing it right. So if I were a die hard Christian correctly, I would indeed serve and treat homosexuals like I would a family member; always have. But again, agnostic so it works out either way.

gays have been denied service at florists, cake shops, and photographers just because they are gay. they have ZERO workplace protection in most states, meaning they can be fired just because they are gay (and they have been). they are denied a whole host of other rights that you not only take for granted, but straight up MOCK them for not having.

you feel good about yourself?

That was your entire comment on the matter. Nope, no hint of a gay insult there at all. Clearly your shitty backpedaling story was what you meant. I bet at least one person here will believe it. Unfortunately, it's just you.
are you ever gonna show me this supposed insult?

because i don't see how it's insulting for me to note that i am not surprised by an anti-gay rant ending in a vivid depiction of gay male on male sexual relations. i'm just not surprised at all.

they've done studies about people like you and the other dude who mock the lack of rights gays face, people with homophobic attitudes like that are generally harboring some latent homosexual feelings that they're unaware of or deny having.

not an insult, just science.

And here's your 2nd favorite trick, deflection. So you don't deny it then?
i'm not denying it, just pointing out that you never seem to have a problem with it when any of your ideological allies makes fun of one our gay members because their gay partner was beat to death in a hate crime and the lack of rights that gays have comes back to bite them.

kind of sick of you to be so one sided with your manufactured outrage.

Does anybody here besides yourself believe I was in fact mocking gays and not you?
you'll have to ask them. i certainly noted that you were mocking gays for not having the same rights you take for granted.

yeah, it just makes you a hypocrite who sides with the hateful homophobes and bigots. congrats.
