Ghetto Fabrication 101:curling iron heat tray

From the Hood to the back Wood,Ghetto Fabulous is fun and be safe when all is said and done.

Number one thing is curling irons are a potential fire hazard. My research shows me that the main reason is that they are left unattended laying on top of combustable material.I used a cheap Remington ($12 Walgreens) and set it on the low setting for several hours. The iron eventualy bypassed the low setting and got very hot/high setting temps to wich I surmised to be a combination of internal thermistors and ambient temps acting as a heat sink fooling them(hard to find exect wiring diagrams online to know for sure).I fixed this flaw by hooking it up to a mechanical timer.Depending on my ambient temps or needs a 15-30 minute on(allways low setting) followed by a 15 minute off on my 24 hour timer,I maintained the temps I needed to germ seeds.I mounted the iron to a 2x4 with pipe straping.I used 2x4's,plywood,cardboard,duct tape to make a stable housing with a foil pan heat distributing cover.
So for 12 dollas and stuff I had laying around (circular saw helped too) and a Sterilite container I germed some seeds. You are better off getting a double the price heat mat and more money thermistat controller for precious beans, but when the landlord is whack on crack or holes in the roof of your hillbilly shack this will have your back.
