Gavita 1000e de 1150w doesn't work?

hi I just installed my new 1000e gavita and when I set the lamp to 1150 and plug it in, it won't fire up.

1000w and the others work just fine, temperatures are 70-80degrees.

What gives? I'm just gonna run it at 1000 but why doesn't the 1150 setting work? Bummer

Did you buy it new? If so take it back. It should work on the 1150 watt setting no problem.

Hey guys, how do you like those lights. Comparing to a 1000w hps. Ive been away from lighting fro awhile and saw these are reasonable priced now. Im sick of heat. Ill do more reading but would love your first hand experience.

Just a crazy what if, but the 1150 setting is right next to the "EXT". If the switch mark was over just a little as soon as you went to the EXT the light would go off unless it's plugged into a gavita computer. Just a thought but, what if?

I got it off amazon. Like I said the 1000 watt setting works so I'll email the seller for an exchange.

This is my first gavita so I can't say on how much brighter it besides the facts of what other people say that these double ended bulbs should be way brighter than a single ended at 1000w..

Okay I need to go delete this thread. I wasn't even baked, just excited to set it up, I couldn't see the EXT. so it's been running at 1150 this whole time. never experienced that with a ballast until now. Thanks bud
