.Man, you had to sell a lot of weed to afford that.
i bought mine used, had 76 hours on it. barely broken in. i paid $2800. it's an older model with a 2 stroke motor. it's just as fast as the new ones. much lighter and much more maneuverable. i can do a lot more on mine than on one of those. the new ones ride really nice but are not much "fun". more for "cruising" or just flat out "speed". i have most my fun between 25 and 35 mph.

my buddy is bowing up my email right now. trying to get me to go burn another 10 gallons. :-P

what... huh?

And no this is not one of those boycott things ... I'm tired of being ripped off by these asshole elite ... want to put the hurt on them? ... it's very simple ... everyone can do it .... how you ask? ... or not ... conserve fuel ... anyway and every way you can ... we went from $1.36 in Nov. to $2.80 today and climbing.
While you have absolutely no understanding whatsoever of the oil market... you have somehow arrived at the correct conclusion. If WE want to drive prices down (as our demand has a substantial effect on the cost) we must conserve. Of course it has phuck all to do with politicians or US oil companies... but the answer is correct. OP is right... to a degree.

Conservation will reduce overall costs... for a time. Demand is relative. Our conservative demand, even if sustainable, will create an overall reduction in cost, for a time. I would ask that you try and imagine all of the gas we have consumed over time, reduced by one year... from the US exclusively... is a drop in the bucket from a non-renewable resource. What we have burned until this time is not recoverable... and reducing measures by even 30% (which is just... an awful lot of money) will not affect the escalation of price of a non renewable resource we consume in such quantity.

Go forward 5 years.

It is a bandaid... but frankly, an important one.

i can't believe after all these years people even still care. isn't the whole gas thing just getting a bit worn out? it's soooooooooo 1970's, ............. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_energy_crisis

NO, i'm NOT being sarcastic. gas is a fucking joke. we are slaves to gas prices. i'm sick of it, aren't you? when do you finally throw your hands in the air and say FUCK IT!!!! that movie says it all.

why is this all still happening 40 years later? sarcasm? not.

i dumped another 10 gallons into the lake yesterday. i paid $3.11 for 91 octane. i've spent $200 on gas in 2 weeks just running my seadoo.

OPEC countries have fixed the oil prices, it's in the news, it has nothing to do with the president or the dollar, every country's currency is shit. Sometimes we get lucky and we can get a country to sell cheaper than at OPEC fixed price. That or Mexico or Alaska drills a new well, then the price also gets cheaper. The supply is huge right now, and demand is still relatively low. It's Arab price fixing, you would do it too it your resources were running out in just a few decades. Plus the U.S. has no relationship with Venezuela. That's why we're in Iraq right now, it's a permanent presidential directive to secure energy needed for national security and Bush just thought he could tie in an Iraqi invasion with 9/11/01 it would have been done eventually anyway. We are running out of cheap crude.

Tis a good point. But the last price reduction wasn't JUST from lack of demand. It was the economy crashing also. Now the stocks are rebounding (including oil) which means we pay more for everything. I myself, won't use my air conditioner at all if the price is over 2.50 a gallon. I don't care if it's 105 degrees. I also TRY to hypermile. But it's pretty rude to my engine so I only do it now and agian.

Don't worry about your A/C...the Obama "smart grid" is coming to you. This is a copy of the European model. Pretty soon your A/C will only run a couple of hours a day and you won't be able to run it more, among other things. That's pretty much the way it works in Europe. The state will even control how cool you can be, or hot.

P.S. When the economy (global) crashed, the demand is what dropped, hence the falling prices. China's consumption affects the price of oil more than your consumption. Don't forget it is a global supply and demand. You running a Prius doesn't change one thing, except pollute the world with batteries.....

It was your monster outdoor and avatar (last year) that brought me to lurk this place habitually... and as such I have sort of an e-man-crush on you...

That being said.

Are you suggesting we hurry up and find an alternative fuel source?

no, i see no "hurry". no one is going anywhere. eventually it's gonna be gone though so i see no point in trying to "save it". i have a truck and a seadoo, i'm gonna use them. be it 2 dollars a gallon or 20. :bigjoint:

We are all slaves to the pump. The reason gas prices drooped was because of the election. They wanted people to have a lil warm fuzzy feeling as they ushered in the new dictator. :wall:

The US is the worlds largest consumer of oil. WE don't control the gas prices, the global elite do. Come from behind??? Obama was the mainstreams front liner from the start. Obama is a direct blood relative of both George Bush's. You have been DUPED. FOOLS eeeewwwwwwwww

While OPEC did set the price of oil in the 70's and 80's, this is no longer true. There are three exchanges that now set the price of oil based on supply and demand. This is a good thing and much better than before, where the spigot was adjusted to spike prices whenever OPEC wanted to..
