It's gonna be awesome to compare our grows in the end. We both are going about things in very much the same manner in two totally different climates and areas.

IMO it would be nice to see more people learning to work with native soils. I've had several growers here tell not to do it and others look at me like I'm crazy. It's amazing what enough composted organic matter can do to just about any soil.

Oh I completely agree! There is still the native red clay mixed into my manure.
Haha yes it will be interesting to compare. This will be my first attempt at scrogging but not only will it give me more bud sites it will also help support my plant in the early stages. I don't want to lose branches like I did last time.
The roads are a bit to muddy yet here to get the dump truck full of manure to me yet. I'm praying it will dry up soon. Pretty soupy

What ratio do you mix the Epsoma garden tone and happy frog bulb food? Also do you think using those is better than using/buying individual ingredient? Besides obviously being a lot cheaper.. cant wait to see how it goes good luck!!

I use 2 cups per 1 cubic foot of soil of the espoma. And I use about 4 cups of the bulb food. I usually put most of that under the root ball. And I make food spikes out of it as well.
As far as if it's better? I don't have an answer to that...but the reason I use both of them is because it's loaded with beneficial innoculants. And between the two it already has everything I need. Takes the guess work out. The price is just a bonus...tho because it's not made for "weed" I believe that is why it's cheaper. Seems once something is specifically made for weed they charge a shit ton more lol.
It will cost me about 240 for all the dry nutes I will need...and 300 for 5000 gallons of manure so all in all I get by way cheaper then most do.

Lol how long is yours? We start getting frost in late sept. But I let them go til mid October. As long as it isn't a hard frost they bounce back right away..and get a pretty purple as well :)

Im in ak its not quite warm enough to really put anything out unless its in a green house

At least where im at ... but i have some vegging girls ready for transplant as soon as it is warm enough they got a little size too em

Figured id let em veg and acclimate for a month then put a light cover over em and hope
We usually have snow by halloween :)

Lol I def. Have a shorter season then you then lol. We have got dumped on with snow the last week of may. It can be nice as could be then the moment I put out my plants we get a hard frost or snow. So I usually try to wait til the last week of May unless the weather has been abnormally warm.

Okay everyone... tonight I will post pictures of my first box. Or what I would like to call my prototype since how I'm doing it is a bit unorthodox lol. Been scheming up this idea for 2 years now.
The box will eventually be build in 3 parts
1st will be the soil container..then once the plants are in the ground..
2nd part will be adding the frame for the scrog net.
3rd Will be the frame and trellis netting added to the top of that for support of branches.

I am just waiting for them to lift the ban on the roads so the dump truck can get in here and drop my order of manure. That should be around mid may. But the boxes will be made first. I will post tonight when done. :)

Not with my big trees I dont. But I always do a few smaller ones that I use light dep for. But down the road when I have a green house I might do that. :)

The last several years I've just knocked the big stuff off before I hang the branches. Then I just tighten up the buds as patients need it. I use to fine trim everything real tight before long term cure/storage. However I think having a bit of leaf on the buds during long term storage/cure is good. I've noticed they seem somewhat protected by those long rough trimmed leafs.....seems like they hold moisture better after long term storage as well.I have buds from last season that are gorgeous and super sticky after a quick tighten up trim for my patients. I'm not talking about leaving fans on. Just a super rough chop.

dang I really want to try a massive outdoor grow, and this is a dam encouraging thread given my climate. Great work and thank you for sharing this with the world!

I agree with you totally...and the nice thing is when you dry trim it releases all kinds of new smells...it's wonderful
