An interesting article with some valid points. Certain samsquanches should read it.

Interesting piece.

When thinking about these things i cannot help but think how apt Steven Colbert was with the term Truthiness. I dont see the term mentioned as often these days but I think it still perfectly encapsulates the mentality we're dealing with here.

And I'll also just say, I don't believe Canada (or Europe or anywhere) is immune to the selfish dum-dums that create their own alternative reality and facts to build their ideologies around. We certainly have these people around as well. I just think our populations are slightly more engaged and informed in politics in general, or maybe just a little less apathetic. I believe this is due to the fact that our election system are a bit more representative, not limited to two parties, which helps keep the more fringe politics and outright denial of basic facts and reality to the fringes where it belongs.

yall don't know the pace of some states. it's almost as if different countries exist within one. new Englanders and mid westerners might aswell be ocean apart

alot of the Bible belt is still living in the 1980s, try to fathom that.

my grandfather is a trucker he's been everywhere, the stories of west of the Mississippi sound like a dream to me

if this country collapsed it would reshape into a patchwork quilt there is far to many sects of individuals, let north Dakota believe its all a sham. they will die faster

South Dakota should build a wall and make north Dakota pay for it

Yes, exactly.

I didn’t necessarily agree with everything in the piece but I thought the hypothesis that concern only for personal freedoms made people less free was right on point.

I really think it is a anti-American hit piece that makes some very valid points but paints such a pretty picture of everywhere else that is a stretch if you are a minority in any country.

Muslims in France, First people in Canada, the stupidity (and selfishness that was exploited) in Brexit, the fact that European nations have caused the most damage to the worlds societies up until they abandoned them to try to overcome the mess they made alone with no resources.

I am not trying to 'but them' this article, because like I said they made some very valid points that I think as I am writing this might be best explained as we kept the vast majority of our problems with the wealthy white male's suppression of others wasn't done in a foreign nation, they were done here. And we still are living with the last remnants of the decisions.

And now we are being attacked by a foreign nation that is exploiting these divisions to the point that our citizens are so blinded by the decades of propaganda that they can't understand what is happening to them.

It sucks how much free-dumb has allowed our citizens to suffer from Trump's allowing the Russian military to continue their attack on us over the last 4 years, even contributing to the propaganda as often as possible. I can't wait for it to end and we can all start moving forward again as a society.
